KYODO. Japan's tourism industry had an impressive May with 3.04 million international visitors , marking the third consecutive month the figure has exceeded the 3 million mark.

JAPAN TIMES. Japan's parliament has passed a revised law to tighten regulations on foreign products sold online to customers in Japan.

CHINA DAILY. China is trying to find new models and paths to develop artificial intelligence (AI), with schools such as Harbin University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University... establishing AI Academies.

Xinhua News Agency. The Chinese government has allocated 346 million yuan ($48.63 million) from its disaster relief fund to support flood and drought control efforts across the country.

THE STAR. China and Malaysia extend economic and trade cooperation pact for another five years, pledge to consider visa-free travel arrangements during Premier Li Qiang's visit to Kuala Lumpur

BNPB. More than 4,000 residents in West Nias, North Sumatra province are isolated due to floods and landslides, Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said.

DHAKA TRIBUNE. Torrential rains in Bangladesh triggered landslides that buried at least nine people, forcing thousands to evacuate to higher ground.

AL JAZEERA. At least 550 people, including 323 Egyptians, have died while performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

NSH. The National Security Council of Israel (NSH) has issued a warning to its citizens to be cautious when attending international sporting events such as EURO 2024, the Olympics and Paralypics.

IRNA. The Iranian government has ratified an agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

SPUTNIK. More than 3,000 people from 47 countries and territories as well as from 61 entities of the Russian Federation attended the XV International Information Technologies (IT) Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk.

EURATIV. The Swedish parliament has voted to approve a controversial defense agreement with the United States that would give the US military access to Swedish military bases across the country.

America

CNN. California's labor regulator has fined online retailer Amazon $5.9 million for failing to properly inform workers about productivity quotas at two of the company's warehouses in the state.

CNBC. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against the short video sharing app TikTok, owned by Chinese company Bytedance, for allegedly violating children's privacy laws to the Department of Justice.

AP. Residents of sprawling apartment buildings built atop sand dunes on Chile's Pacific coast are worried about growing safety risks after a series of massive sinkholes appeared.

ARISE NEWS. Colombia's immigration authority will grant legal status to some 540,000 Venezuelan migrants to reside in the country.

EPA. The presidents of Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Paraguay will attend the inauguration of Panamanian President-elect José Raúl Mulino, scheduled for July 1.

DW. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa was officially sworn in for a second term as President of South Africa at the Union Buildings in the capital Pretoria, under the direction of Judge Raymond Zondo.

ABC. Authorities in the Australian state of New South Wales have confirmed an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H7N8 strain of avian influenza in Greater Sydney, after a poultry farm was quarantined after a bird flu infection was detected.

KYODO. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio expressed concern about the situation in the East Sea during talks in Tokyo.

NZ HERALD. The New Zealand government has significantly upgraded its child-related digital systems, blocking access to websites hosting child sexual abuse material.
