On October 13, Comrade Nguyen Van Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working program with the China Import and Export Association of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) led by Mr. Trinh Sieu, Vice Chairman of CCCME.
Also participating in the working program were comrade Nguyen Tien Hieu, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (KKTNS&CKCN) of the province; leaders of departments, branches, leaders of Nghi Son town, the Provincial Business Association and the Thanh Hoa City Business Association.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi sincerely thanked Vice Chairman of CCCME Trinh Sieu in particular and the delegation in general for their attention and learning about Thanh Hoa province as well as the NSK.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke and introduced the potential and development advantages of the Thanh Hoa Economic Zone and Industrial Park.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee introduced the basic features of the development advantages and potential of Thanh Hoa's industry and the NSZ. Accordingly, in addition to the modern investment and connection of the internal and external transport system, the NSZ has a special advantage with a deep-water port system that has been planned to become a type I port by 2050 and has the potential to become a special seaport. Here, goods from Thanh Hoa province and neighboring areas have been transported by international shipping lines to many countries around the world.
In addition to the NSK, the province also has 19 industrial parks with an area of over 6,809 hectares, with favorable geographical locations and attractive investment incentives. Up to now, the NSK and CKCN have attracted 730 projects, including 656 domestic investment projects and 74 foreign investment projects.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi said that some industrial parks in Thanh Hoa province are planned for multi-industry; very suitable for the strengths of CCCME enterprises investing in production. Typically, Industrial Park No. 3 is planned for 274 hectares and is being promoted by Thanh Hoa province to complete infrastructure. This industrial park has a very favorable location in terms of connectivity because it is located close to National Highway 1A and Nghi Son - Bai Tranh route, near Nghi Son deep-water port... In the development plan, this industrial park prioritizes attracting mechanical, electronic, and assembly industry projects...
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that CCCME will be a bridge in introducing the association's enterprises operating in fields such as: Electronics, e-commerce, processing and manufacturing; high-tech, environmentally friendly industries and fields, clean energy, renewable energy... to research and invest in this Industrial Park in particular and the NSK in general.

Vice President of CCCME Trinh Sieu said that this visit and work of the delegation aims to soon realize the promise to Thanh Hoa province in the recent visit, work and investment promotion in China. At the investment promotion program organized by Thanh Hoa province recently, CCCME as well as enterprises in the association had the opportunity to learn about the potential and fields in which Thanh Hoa province wishes to call for investment opportunities. Therefore, during this working trip, although the delegation carried out many working programs in provinces and cities of Vietnam, they still paid attention and determined the visit and work in Thanh Hoa as the focus.
CCCME Vice President Trinh Sieu emphasized: Through the field survey and introduction of the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the working delegation had comprehensive information, deepening the understanding of the investment environment, policy mechanisms, especially shaping a number of suitable fields, with the potential to develop cooperation connections in the coming time. After this working trip, CCCME will introduce and encourage the association's enterprises to continue to research further and work specifically to achieve specific results in cooperation and investment connections in Thanh Hoa.

During the working trip, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also introduced to the CCCME delegation a number of major projects in the NSK that are in operation.

Accordingly, Nghi Son Seaport system consists of 51 wharves and wharf areas (10 container wharves, 21 general wharves, the rest are specialized wharves and wharf areas), currently 21 wharves are in operation. Nghi Son Port is capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of up to 70,000 DWT - 100,000 DWT, with a loading and unloading capacity of hundreds of millions of tons/year.
Currently, Nghi Son International Port has attracted international shipping lines to operate regularly, connecting Nghi Son with many seaports in Asia and Europe. Thanh Hoa Province has also issued Resolution No. 248/2022/HDND on policies to support international and domestic sea transport vehicles transporting goods by container through Nghi Son Port; accordingly, support of VND 500 million/international container ship; support of VND 2 million/20-foot container and VND 3 million/40-foot container through Nghi Son Port and open declaration at Thanh Hoa Customs.

The delegation visited and learned about Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant.
Coming into commercial operation in 2018, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex supplies about 40% of petroleum output for the domestic market.
The delegation visited Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW.
The delegation also visited Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex with a capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil/year, total investment of 9 billion USD; Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW, generating an output of 7.8 billion kWh/year, contributing nearly 1,000 billion VND to the Thanh Hoa provincial budget annually; Nghi Son No. 2 Steel Rolling Mill invested by VAS Nghi Son Group Joint Stock Company has successfully exported many products to Japan, the United States... and many other demanding markets.
