First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly visits Ninh Binh province for fact-finding

Within the framework of her official visit to Vietnam, on the morning of April 15, Ms. Márta Mátrai, First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly, visited and learned about the situation in Ninh Binh province. Accompanying her were the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Vietnam; representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Receiving and working with the delegation from Ninh Binh province were comrades: Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, a number of provincial departments and branches.

In his welcoming speech, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan expressed his joy at welcoming Ms. Márta Mátrai, First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly in the historic land of Hoa Lu; and affirmed that the visit is an important event contributing to consolidating, continuing and enhancing the long-standing friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Vietnam always remembers Hungary's great support in the cause of national defense and construction. The relationship between the two countries and between localities of Vietnam and Hungary has been actively promoted in recent years. This is demonstrated by impressive figures such as: Hungary currently ranks 54th out of 139 countries and territories investing in Vietnam; trade turnover has increased. In particular, Hungary also actively supports Vietnam in training high-quality human resources with over 4,000 international students.

Appreciating the visit to Ninh Binh by the First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly, the Provincial Party Secretary said that the visit was an opportunity to further promote the cooperative relationship between Ninh Binh province and the city of Balatonfured, Hungary - where the leaders of Ninh Binh province visited and worked during their working trip to Hungary in June 2023.

He also briefly informed about the geographical location, historical and cultural traditions, and the socio-economic development of the province in recent times. Briefly introducing the strategic orientations and potential for tourism development, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: Ninh Binh has the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage, which is considered a typical model of harmoniously combining heritage restoration and conservation with green growth and sustainable development.

Ninh Binh also determined that in addition to developing high-tech industry, the province focuses on promoting the development of cultural industry associated with the exploitation and preservation of heritage. By 2035, it strives to become a centrally-governed city with the characteristics of a millennium heritage city.

To achieve this goal, Ninh Binh values ​​and attaches importance to promoting international cooperation, especially with partners with good traditional relations such as Hungary. In the immediate future, Ninh Binh hopes to cooperate with Hungary in the field of tourism and investment attraction. At the same time, Ninh Binh affirms: Ninh Binh always values ​​and wishes to cooperate with Hungary, a country with high technical and technological level, to learn valuable experiences in tourism development, in the field of legislation with specific characteristics for heritage cities and support for training high-quality human resources...

Expressing her gratitude for the warm and thoughtful welcome of the leaders of Ninh Binh province to the delegation, Ms. Márta Mátrai, First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly, said: This is the second time she has visited Vietnam and has always had a very special impression of the country, people and beautiful landscapes of Vietnam - a country with many similarities to Hungary.

Regarding the relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies, the purpose and significance of this visit and work in Vietnam, and future cooperation orientations, the First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly emphasized: Despite the great geographical distance, the good friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies was established early and has been preserved and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

In particular, Hungary was one of the first countries to recognize the Republic and establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Hungary also identified Vietnam as an important strategic partner in the Southeast Asian region to expand cooperation in science and technology in the fields of environmental protection, climate change, especially green agriculture, processing high-quality, clean agricultural products - Hungary's strengths.

The two countries and the two National Assemblies have also increased visits, worked together, organized seminars, talks, shared information and experience in legislative activities, education and training, serving the development and integration of each country in the new period.

Appreciating the proposals of Ninh Binh province in wishing to expand cooperation with Hungarian localities in the fields of investment attraction, legislation, tourism development, conservation and promotion of heritage values, the First Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly affirmed: Hungary always supports and wishes to continue promoting cooperation in these fields.

In particular, she also provided more information about Hungary's support plan for Vietnam in training high-quality human resources in the coming time and hoped that many people in Ninh Binh would be able to receive this support.

Emphasizing that 2025 is a special year to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary, Ms. Márta Mátrai expressed her belief that the two countries and the two National Assemblies will organize many meaningful activities to further strengthen this friendly relationship. At the same time, she affirmed that she will make every effort to promote cooperation between Hungary and Vietnam in general, and Ninh Binh province and localities of Hungary in particular.
