On the afternoon of March 25, at the National Assembly House, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh met with a delegation of the Institute of Cultural Economics.
Expressing his joy at meeting the delegates, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that culture must permeate all aspects of life, only then can the country's development goals be achieved in the new era.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that the National Assembly has issued a Resolution approving the investment policy of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period.
The Resolution sets out the general goal of “mobilizing resources, focusing on key, quality and effective investments for cultural development, contributing directly to economic and social development, promoting cultural industries to become important components of the national economy.” In particular, tourism development is an effective way to successfully implement the three National Target Programs.
Cultural-historical tourism is considered a new potential growth driver, contributing to economic growth and spreading national identity.
Recently, the National Assembly has passed many important laws in the fields of culture and tourism such as the Law on Tourism (amended); Law on Cultural Heritage; Law on Planning... creating a favorable legal corridor for localities to develop tourism, including tourism models associated with relics, heritage, "returning to the source," "red addresses."
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly was pleased to see that the Institute of Cultural Economics had thoroughly grasped the policies of the Party and State; had many practical proposals and recommendations related to socio-economic development policies, preserving and promoting national cultural values, contributing to the improvement of institutions and improving the quality of state management in many fields.
To continue to promote its role and contribute more effectively in the coming period, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Institute of Cultural Economics to proactively coordinate with relevant units to promote, transfer and effectively apply the State-level Scientific Project "Linking the Development of Tourism in the Viet Bac War Zone" and research results into life.
In the context that the whole country is promoting innovation, comprehensively developing Vietnamese culture and people, building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with proactive and extensive international integration, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly believes that the Institute of Cultural Economics will continue to promote its strengths, conduct more in-depth research on strategic issues, linking economic development with culture, education, environment and people; propose new development models, effectively exploit cultural potential in tourism, creativity, digital economy; provide scientific arguments for National Assembly agencies, ministries and branches in building and monitoring policies and laws.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also requested the Ethnic Council, the Committee on Culture and Society, agencies of the National Assembly, and the National Assembly Office to strengthen coordination with the Institute in policy consulting activities, scientific seminars, and thematic research, contributing to making policies closer to life and laws more and more suitable to practical development requirements.
At the meeting, Director of the Institute of Cultural Economics Nguyen Quoc Hung reported on a number of activities of the Institute in general and the tourism sector in particular. In particular, since the beginning of 2022, the Institute of Cultural Economics has chaired and coordinated with the Ethnic Council, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, etc. to implement many tourism development projects.
Promoting the achieved results, the Institute proposed to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and a number of localities to research and contribute to tourism development, associated with the National Target Programs stated in the Resolution of the National Assembly; especially the development of nostalgic tourism.../.
