At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Sweden, which is Vietnam's leading important partner in Northern Europe.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly stated that Vietnam always remembers and is grateful for Sweden's effective support and assistance to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the current development and international integration, especially with highly symbolic projects such as the Bai Bang Paper Mill, tree planting, afforestation and poverty reduction for many northern provinces of Vietnam.

The Vice President of the Swedish Parliament affirmed that Vietnam is a long-standing important friend of Sweden, and is pleased with the development of bilateral relations in all fields; expressed admiration for the rapid transformation and strong socio-economic development of Vietnam, and affirmed that Sweden also needs to learn from Vietnam's experience in a number of fields, as well as being ready to promote cooperation with Vietnam in education - training, science - technology, trade - investment.

The two sides highly appreciated the positive developments in the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries over the past 55 years, and agreed to implement measures to strengthen the relationship, including the Strategic Partnership in the fields of scientific research, technology and capacity building. The Vice President of the Swedish Parliament agreed to highly appreciate the role, contributions and readiness to support the Vietnamese community working and living in Sweden.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the leaders of the two countries' National Assembly agreed to increase delegation exchanges and contacts between specialized committees, groups of female parliamentarians and young parliamentarians of the two legislative bodies, actively exchange information, share management experience, build laws and policies in the fields of digital transformation, and educational cooperation.

The two sides also agreed to continue to strengthen consultation, close coordination and mutual support at international organizations and forums, including inter-parliamentary forums.
