Sending best wishes to former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy on the occasion of his recent awarding of the 80-year Party membership badge, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong stated that this is a very important milestone on the path of striving of each Party member, a vivid proof of the continuous cultivation of political mettle, steadfast spirit, extensive experience as well as the cause of fighting for national liberation and unification of former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also stated that during his 80 years in the Party, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy has held many important positions. In any circumstances, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy has always been absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; maintained the revolutionary ethics of a Party member, and excellently fulfilled all tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the Army.

Wishing former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy good health and longevity, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong hopes that with his experience, the former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly will continue to monitor the activities of the National Assembly, share and contribute valuable ideas to further improve the effectiveness of the National Assembly's activities, and contribute more to the cause of national construction and development in the new era.

Former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy was born in 1928, in Hanh Thien village, Xuan Hong commune, Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province.

With more than 60 years of service in the Army, the National Assembly and the Vietnam Veterans Association, and 80 years of Party membership, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy has held many important positions: Company Political Commissar, Head of the Combat Team, Secretary to the Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Front Region, Commander of the Chemical Corps, Deputy Commander, Commander of Military Region 2; Member of the Party Central Committee, 7th tenure, National Assembly Delegate, 8th, 9th, 10th tenure; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

Former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Dang Quan Thuy was also honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for his many important contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly was honored to receive many noble awards from the Party, State and the Vietnam People's Army: Heroic American Destroyer; Glorious Soldier Medal, First, Second and Third Class; Victory Flag Medal; Liberation Soldier Medal, First, Second and Third Class; Victory Medal, First and Second Class; Liberation Feat Medal, Third Class; Resistance Medal, First, Second and Third Class; Military Exploit Medal, First, Second and Third Class; Independence Medal, First Class; Gold Star Medal.
