On the morning of December 12, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan attended the 130th anniversary celebration of Hue Central Hospital.

At the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit and souvenirs to Hue Central Hospital. At the same time, the Vice President also presented the Labor Medal to Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of the hospital and 2 groups of Hue Central Hospital.

On this occasion, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan commended and congratulated the great achievements of the leadership, cadres, civil servants and employees of Hue Central Hospital over the years. Minister Dao Hong Lan suggested that Hue Central Hospital focus on 6 issues to continuously improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, striving to become a hospital on par with the region and the world.

Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of Hue Central Hospital said that the hospital has identified short-term and long-term goals, needs to take appropriate steps and continue to be determined and make continuous efforts to complete the goals.

That is, ensuring that people have the right to enjoy high-quality, safe and effective health care services; to be treated equally in health care as well as ensuring the satisfaction of patients and relatives when accessing and using the services.

All hospital staff are determined to build Hue Central Hospital into a Center of Advanced Medicine, a Center for training high-quality medical human resources, aiming to meet the standards of hospitals in Southeast Asia and internationally according to Resolution No. 54 of the Politburo.

In particular, develop the hospital into one of the six public hospitals in Vietnam at international standards according to the health network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Government.

It is known that Hue Central Hospital is the first Western hospital in Vietnam, established in 1894 by decree of King Thanh Thai. In 1944, the hospital was officially named Hue Central Hospital, to date 130 years of construction and has become one of the 3 largest special-level hospitals in the country.

From a French doctor and a few medical staff, after 130 years of development, Hue Central Hospital now has more than 1,800 university and postgraduate staff with 9 people's doctors, 143 excellent doctors, nearly 200 professors, associate professors, doctors...

The hospital has a total area of ​​35.7 hectares (including 2 facilities) with more than 5,000 beds, many newly built and upgraded infrastructure areas, nearly 300 types of modern medical equipment on par with the region and the world.

With nearly 2,000 successful organ transplants, the hospital has become one of the major centers successfully performing the "heart, liver, kidney" trio of organ transplants, putting Vietnam on the world heart transplant map.
