Recently, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province issued Decision No. 1799/QD-UBND dated October 31, 2024, approving the investment project for the construction of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway section passing through Nam Dinh and Thai Binh provinces under the public-private partnership method.
Accordingly, the project has a total investment of VND 19,149.257 billion excluding interest; and a total investment including interest of VND 19,784.55 billion. The road will be constructed to expressway standards with 4 complete lanes, a design speed of 120 km/h; a roadbed width of 24.75m; and a high-grade A1 road surface. The road is approximately 60.9 km long; the starting point is at Km19+300 at the beginning of the Day River overpass in Nam Dinh , in Nghia Thai commune (Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province); the end point is at approximately Km80+200 at the intersection between National Highway 37 and the coastal road, in Thuy Trinh commune (Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province).
The main route of the project includes 23 bridges with a total length of over 7,346m (of which 14 bridges with a total length of 3,894.13m are located in Nam Dinh province); there are 4 overpasses with a total length of 853.6m (of which 2 bridges are located in Nam Dinh province: the overpass at the intersection of provincial road 489C and the overpass at Km33+445.07).
The total land requirement is approximately 538.44 hectares; the project implementation period is from 2023, with basic completion in 2027, and commissioning in 2028.
