Approval of the Master Plan for the construction of a high-tech forestry zone in the North Central region

The forestry area has a total area of ​​618 hectares.

According to the Project, the High-tech Forestry Zone in the North Central region has boundaries in the communes of Nghi Lam, Nghi Van, Nghi Kieu, Khanh Hop, Nghi Loc district and Dai Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, including 03 sub-zones, with a total area of ​​618 hectares.

The goal of the planning is to promote the development of the forestry sector in a modern direction, applying high technology in production stages, increasing the value of forest production and business, developing sustainable forestry in terms of economy, society and environment. Developing the forest economy according to the value chain from seeds, sustainable forest management, high-quality forest planting, exploitation, processing and consumption of products to increase the value of forest products.

At the same time, contributing to Vietnam's goal of "Committing to achieving net zero emissions by 2050" at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP26); creating more jobs, promoting training to improve the quality of human resources, making a decisive contribution to the transformation of the economic structure and labor structure towards industrialization and modernization...

Forestry Zone is a High-tech Zone focusing on developing high technology in the forestry sector.

The North Central region high-tech forestry zone is a high-tech zone focusing on implementing activities to apply high-tech research and development achievements in the forestry sector, focusing on the fields of forestry seed production, afforestation, wood processing and forest products in Nghe An province and the North Central region, specifically:

Zone 1 (High-tech Forestry Seed Production Center) 48 ha: Is a seedling production area with modern production technology lines, providing transfer services of advanced equipment and technology in forestry seed production. Is a place to preserve and conserve rare forest plant genetic resources of Vietnam transferred by domestic and foreign research institutes; is a training center, transferring forestry seed production techniques to seed businesses in the North Central region and neighboring areas.

Zone 2 (High-tech wood and non-timber forest products processing production area) 530 ha: Is a closed, highly specialized production area, supplying ancillary products for the wood industry and training labor resources for the wood and non-timber forest products processing industry.

Zone 3 (Exhibition and trading floor area for introducing processed wood and non-timber forest products) 40 hectares: Is a place for trading and promoting forestry products in the North Central High-Tech Forestry Zone; is a place to supply raw materials, machinery and supplies related to the wood industry.

Spatial development orientation

The planning area is divided into 3 main functional sub-areas and should be developed on the basis of the main spatial axes:

Zone 1 - High-tech forestry seedling production center with main functional areas such as: Research and development training center area, wood product design research center, demonstration of high-tech forestry product production model, satellite nursery system, high-tech nursery area, testing area for varieties and demonstration of high-quality varieties. The central area is located close to the main road, convenient for traffic (located along the main traffic routes, conveniently connected to other functional areas).

Zone 2 - High-tech wood and non-timber forest product processing production area with main functional areas: Public service center, management and operation including the operation, service and office building; arranged in each separate functional area, close to the central main road, convenient for traffic, (located along the main or external traffic routes) conveniently connecting with other functional areas, High-tech wood and non-timber forest product processing production development area including: Factory area, warehouse for high-tech wood and non-timber forest product processing production; Factory area, warehouse, logistics; Plant variety factory area. Zone 2 has the main axis as the planned route in the North - South direction connecting National Highway ^48E in the North and National Highway 7C in the South, with a road width of 60m and 51m.

Zone 3 – Trading floor combined with exhibition introducing raw wood and processed products from wood and non-timber forest products: Developed in the form of an open space with a square and biodiversity combined with a special national monument (Nguyen Xi Temple) to create a cultural - service - public space of the area for exhibition and introduction of scientific and technological products to display, exhibit and promote transactions of products and goods.

The North Central Highlands High-Tech Forestry Zone was established by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 509/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2021. This is the first High-Tech Forestry Zone in the country.
