The workshop is within the framework of the State-level scientific project "Research, application and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's thought in the development of Vietnamese press and media in the renovation period" chaired by the Academy of Journalism and Communication under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
This is a meaningful scientific activity, taking place in the context of journalists across the country celebrating the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024) and on the journey towards the historical milestone of 100 years in 2025.
The workshop aims to contribute to providing important scientific arguments for determining guiding viewpoints, proposing practical solutions and recommendations to continue researching, applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought in developing Vietnamese press and media from now until the middle of the 21st century, so that the country's press and media can maximize the historical achievements gained over the past nearly 100 years, continuing to make practical contributions as the country enters a new era of development - "the era of national growth".
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized: It can be said that Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on revolutionary journalism have a profound crystallization between theory and practice, demonstrating the far-sighted vision of a leader, an outstanding journalist of the country and the nation.... In particular, his instructions and teachings on the purpose of the country's press, on the glorious mission of journalists and the requirements for the press staff still hold true today and tomorrow.
At the workshop, Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi also raised the issue: the press and media in our country are facing many challenges and difficulties arising from the complex fluctuations of the world and domestic situation, as well as the existing shortcomings and limitations in the current activities of the Vietnamese press and media. In particular, the 4.0 scientific and technological revolution with a focus on digital transformation has been fundamentally and comprehensively changing press and media activities, opening up unprecedented development opportunities for journalists, but at the same time, it also creates a lot of pressure and great challenges if press and media agencies do not have innovative thinking and are not well prepared to keep up with the journalism trends of the times.
"Therefore, finding new approaches in research and creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's ideological values to the development of journalism and communication in our country to suit the current context and conditions is an urgent issue," affirmed Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi.
