(GLO)- On May 25, at the Mang Yang District People's Committee Hall, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee held a working conference to reach an agreement with the local Party committees and authorities of Mang Yang, Dak Doa, and Dak Po districts on the results of reviewing and adjusting the planning of 3 types of forests until 2025 with a vision to 2030, Mr. Duong Mah Tiep - Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee. Attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities, and units.

According to the report at the Conference, the results of the review and adjustment of the planning of 3 types of forests until 2025 with a vision to 2030 in the province were issued under Decision No. 527/QD-UBND dated August 23, 2021 of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to review and update the planning adjustment of 3 types of forests. Accordingly, the total planning area for forestry is 723,156.38 hectares, accounting for 46.62% of the total natural area of ​​the province, a decrease of 18,097.18 hectares compared to before; all 3 types of production, protection and special-use forests have many areas changed. Specifically, special-use forests are 82,208.33 hectares, accounting for 11.37% of the forestry land area (an increase of 23,007.32 hectares compared to Resolution No. 100/NQ-HDND); Protection forest 150,374.48 ha, accounting for 20.79% of forestry land area (increased by 5,867.13 ha); production forest 490,573.57 ha, accounting for 67.84% of forestry land area (decreased by 46,971.63 ha).

Dak Po district has a total area of ​​24,931.55 ha, of which protective forest is 10,463.63 ha, no special-use forest, production forest is 14,467.92 ha. The total forested land area is 21,295.43 ha; of which natural forest is 14,286.47 ha (in 3 types of forest 14,286.47 ha), planted forest is 7,008.96 ha (in 3 types of forest 5,267.52 ha, outside 3 types of forest 1,741.44 ha).

Dak Po District People's Committee proposed to transfer 5.23 hectares of planted forest in compartments 3,4,5, Sub-area 636 under the management of Bac An Khe Protective Forest Management Board, the reason is that this is a forest with 100% state budget investment capital (to be transferred to production forest).

Dak Doa district has a total area of ​​31,465.23 ha, of which protective forest is 8,767.86 ha, special-use forest is 3,426.33 ha, production forest is 19,271.04 ha. Total forest land area is 28,399.89 ha, including natural forest 17,480.66 ha (of 3 types of forest 17,480.66 ha, outside 3 types of forest there is none); planted forest 10,919.23 ha (of 3 types of forest 911.31 ha, outside 3 types of forest 10,007.92 ha).

Dak Doa District People's Committee proposed 5 projects to convert the purpose of using forests and forestry land. Through the process of updating the project boundaries, it was found that the coordinates of 5 projects proposed by the district have affected the forest area and have been included in the list (total forest area of ​​26.58 ha, of which natural forest is 13.14 ha, planted forest is 13.44 ha).

Mang Yang district has a total area of ​​63,655.62 ha, of which protective forest is 12,242.62 ha, special-use forest is 5,739.32 ha, production forest is 45,673.68 ha. The total forested land area is 50,798.83 ha, including natural forest 40,611.37 ha (in 3 types of forest 40,611.19 ha, outside 3 types of forest 0.18 ha), planted forest 10,187.46 ha (in 3 types of forest 7,580.92 ha, outside 3 types of forest 2,606.54 ha).

Mang Yang District People's Committee proposed 14 projects to convert the purpose of using forests and forestry land. Through the process of updating the project boundaries, it was found that 3 projects: Kon Ka Kinh resort planning, Pyau relic site planning, Dak Pi Hao hydropower planning do not affect the forest area. Therefore, there are 11 projects proposed by the district that affect the forest area and have been included in the list (total area of ​​73.33 ha, of which natural forest is 30.98 ha, planted forest is 42.35 ha).

After listening to the report of the consulting unit, the departments, branches, localities and forest owners presented the difficulties and obstacles in the process of reviewing the planning of 3 types of forests as well as proposed solutions to ensure consistency, suitability with reality as well as meet the orientation of forest protection and development according to the restructuring goal of the forestry sector of Gia Lai province.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Duong Mah Tiep - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the responsibility of the agricultural sector, localities and the efforts of the consulting unit in the process of reviewing and adjusting the planning of 3 types of forests. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the review and adjustment of the planning of 3 types of forests must be consistent with the overall planning of socio-economic development as well as the land use planning of the province, prioritizing national defense and security purposes; projects included in the planning are requested to coordinate with departments and branches to update and adjust accordingly.
