Developing high-tech defense industry

President Luong Cuong suggested that Viettel Aerospace Institute master and develop modern technology and complete infrastructure.

On December 9, in Hanoi, President Luong Cuong, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Viettel Aerospace Institute for its outstanding achievements in researching and manufacturing high-tech strategic weapons for the army and the country. Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong emphasized that the achievements of Viettel Aerospace Institute are not only the pride of the nation but also contribute to realizing the thousand-year-old aspiration of the Vietnamese people - always wishing to have enough strength and autonomy to protect independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, for eternal peace and the longevity of the nation. The results that Viettel Aerospace Institute has achieved are also thanks to the wise leadership of the Party, State, regularly and directly the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense; the active, close, proactive and effective coordination of the central and local ministries, branches, agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense. Especially the autonomy, self-reliance, determination and breakthrough in the thinking and working methods of generations of leaders and experts of Viettel Group, directly the silent dedication of each officer, engineer and employee of Viettel Aerospace Institute.

Congratulating the staff, engineers and workers of Viettel Aerospace Institute, President Luong Cuong also hoped that the unit would continue to promote intelligence, bravery and creativity to achieve even greater achievements, contributing to firmly protecting the Fatherland. The President requested the unit to master and develop modern technology, perfect the defense industry infrastructure. Continue to invest in research, testing and production complexes that meet international standards, ensuring consistency and self-containedness. At the same time, build centers to inspect and evaluate the quality of defense equipment to better support research and product development projects. President Luong Cuong noted the need to proactively contribute to building state mechanisms and policies to ensure consistency from research, production to application, promote research and development, technology transfer, and protect intellectual property rights for defense inventions. The President also requested to continue to attach importance to and focus on building a clean and strong Party organization, associated with building a comprehensively strong "exemplary and typical" unit; developing high-quality human resources that are both professionally skilled and politically steadfast. At the same time, strengthen cooperation with universities and research institutes at home and abroad to train and attract talents, meeting the development requirements of the high-tech defense industry.
