It has become a tradition that every day at 6:30 p.m., members of the Folk Dance Club of the Women's Association of Dan Tu Village, Tan Phu Commune, Vinh Tuong District gather at the village cultural house to practice. Everyone is excited to practice dances to the music played from a smartphone connected to a Bluetooth speaker. In the digital age, these devices have contributed to improving the quality of life, making cultural and artistic activities of local clubs more effective.
Ms. Duong Thi Huyen, a club member, said: “Instead of having to use a cassette player running on CDs and cassette tapes like many years ago, modern digital technology devices now help us easily access and participate in local cultural and artistic movements and activities.
For the folk dance movement, the exercises posted on social networks are very diverse, helping women freely choose exercises suitable for each purpose and topic. From there, it not only trains for good health but also enriches the spiritual life of members, attracting an increasing number of people to register to join the club with more than 30 members practicing regularly.
Talking about cultural and artistic activities in the 4.0 era, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tan Phu commune Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong said: "Along with the development of digital technology devices, the cultural and artistic movement flourishing on social networking platforms has created a positive effect, becoming a useful playground for art enthusiasts.
One of the most popular art forms on social networks is sports folk dance. Not only Dan Tu village, but also most of the women's associations in the commune have established a regularly operating folk dance club. Initially, there was no instructor, so club members often went online to learn each dance step, then those who knew how to teach those who didn't. Learning from video tutorials, after just a few sessions, the members had memorized the lessons, then combined the music into a complete dance.
In addition to regularly practicing and performing for events and competitions launched by authorities at all levels, folk dance clubs also actively post folk dance images and videos and organize online livestream performances on social networking platforms Tiktok and Facebook. The videos and images posted are loved and shared by a large audience, which is the motivation for the clubs to continue to have more effective activities in the future."
Similarly, in Hoang Dan commune, Tam Duong district, in recent years, the cultural and artistic movement has also grown stronger, attracting a large number of people to respond to the convenience of the digital age.
“Hoang Dan Club connecting four directions” is one of the active art clubs on the social network platform Facebook. Currently, the club has more than 1,600 members who are lovers of art and culture of Hoang Dan commune and neighboring localities.
Here, members interact and participate in cultural activities regularly in the evenings through the Club's Fanpage. To improve the quality of livestreams, the performances of Club members are specifically registered with the Fanpage Management Board. After selecting the registered members and performances, the Club's Fanpage Management Board will schedule and officially announce the livestream broadcast time for other members to watch and cheer.
Although it was only established in April 2023, up to now, the Fanpage of "Hoang Dan Club connecting four directions" has had hundreds of livestreams of performances by club members, attracting thousands of views and receiving many positive responses, promoting the club's cultural activities to develop more and more.
According to statistics, the province currently has over 20 provincial, district and city-level cultural and artistic clubs that have been granted establishment decisions. In addition, there are nearly 600 clubs that have been granted operation decisions by the People's Committees at the commune level, along with hundreds of spontaneous clubs to preserve and promote folk cultural and artistic forms in the province.
In general, the clubs are active and dynamic. And above all, thanks to digital technology, the activities of cultural and artistic clubs, whether on the “online” stage or in real life, have played an effective role in promoting the movement of “All people unite to build a cultural life”, building a healthy cultural environment and a civilized lifestyle in the community.
