Since the beginning of 2023, tourism activities in Binh Thuan have been extremely vibrant with the number of visitors expected to increase by more than 82% over the same period last year and revenue increasing by 2.1 times. With many favorable factors, it is forecasted that the province's "smokeless industry" will soon complete the targets set for this year, thereby also considering development for the long term...

Specifically, in the first 7 months of this year, the whole province is estimated to welcome more than 5.3 million visitors (reaching approximately 79% of the yearly plan), while revenue from tourism activities reached nearly 13,450 billion VND (equal to 81.5% of the plan). Before entering the peak summer tourism season of 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Chairman of Binh Thuan Tourism Association predicted that in the third quarter of 2023, the locality would continue to welcome about 2.4 million visitors, an average of 800,000 visitors/month. And statistics in the first month of the third quarter also showed that in July alone, local tourism was estimated to welcome 847,000 visitors, an increase of nearly 63% over the same period with revenue reaching more than 2,100 billion VND, while the same period last year only reached 922.3 billion VND.

Achieving the above results is thanks to many favorable factors: Being the host of the National Tourism Year 2023 - Binh Thuan - Green Convergence, the expressway section Phan Thiet - Dau Giay and Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao has been put into use, the destination has strengths in sea - island tourism, the weather is favorable for tourism activities... Besides, it also recognizes the efforts of the locality and the whole industry in promoting the image and brand of the destination "Safe - Friendly - Quality", implementing many solutions to promote advantages to attract tourists. With a strong recovery after the Covid - 19 pandemic, Binh Thuan tourism not only strives to soon reach the main targets of the industry this year (welcoming 6.72 million visitors, revenue reaching 15,900 billion VND) but also considers "long-term" development...

Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement Resolution No. 82 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development. Accordingly, Binh Thuan has proposed a number of tasks and solutions: Promote the restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, quality, sustainability and continue to facilitate the attraction of international tourists to Vietnam. At the same time, increase investment attraction for tourism development with focus, focusing on the National Tourism Area as well as developing products and communicating, promoting and promoting tourism. Along with that, it will support tourism businesses, improve the quality of training and fostering human resources, accelerate digital transformation, promote startups and innovation in the tourism sector.

To implement this plan, the Department of Planning and Investment is assigned to effectively implement mechanisms and policies to attract investment, especially for strategic investors, to develop entertainment and resort complexes, international tourism centers and tourism support service industries (aviation, accommodation facilities, trade centers, retail services, etc.) to promote tourist spending. In attracting investment, priority will be given to investment resources in technical infrastructure and synchronous, quality facilities in national tourist areas or areas with potential for development to form international-class destinations. In addition, it will also take the lead in developing and implementing the project on developing the province's night-time economy by 2030, striving to have at least one model area put into operation during this period after the project is approved...

For the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it focuses on linking product development, markets and connecting tours, routes, tourist attractions in the region, inter-region... towards forming a linkage model between localities, with the participation of national tourism agencies and large enterprises. On the other hand, it will preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and localities to diversify tourism forms and products as well as focus on linking tourism with other industries in the value chain, associated with green and sustainable development and the motto "taking the experience of tourists as the center". Next, it is necessary to focus on developing the current domestic tourism market and expanding potential markets with the ability to grow rapidly with a large source of visitors, high spending, and long-term stays. At the same time, it will promote communication, promotion, and marketing to attract domestic and international tourists, promote the building of a safe, attractive, humane, hospitable, convenient destination image and "satisfy tourists, warm the hearts of hosts".

Meanwhile, localities will strengthen rescue work at public beaches, and ensure safety for tourists in recreational activities on sand dunes. Timely rectify issues related to the natural environment and social environment in tourist areas and spots, effectively resolve and handle the situation of shabby trading, encroachment on beaches, street vendors soliciting tourists, water canoes, etc. causing loss of aesthetics and lack of civility and politeness in community tourism areas.

Together, the province’s industry associations will actively encourage businesses to promote the development of resort tourism associated with MICE and Wellness tourism.
