Located on the poetic Lam River, Nghi Xuan owns more than 200 cultural and historical relics, of which 83 have been granted provincial and national relics (1 special national relic, 8 national relics and 74 provincial relics). Nghi Xuan is also known for its intangible cultural heritages such as: ca tru, folk songs, giam, Kieu plays, sac bua, chau van; festivals... Geniuses such as Nguyen Du, Nguyen Cong Tru... have all had a great influence on the development of folk arts.

In 2023, many unique cultural activities were organized by the district such as: Nguyen Du Cultural Week; death anniversary of Thanh Mau Temple (Xuan Lam Commune); Vuc Rao Fishing Festival (Xuan Vien Commune); Fishing Festival in Cam Lam Village (Xuan Lien Commune); Cho Cui Temple Festival (Xuan Hong Commune); 245th birth anniversary, 165th death anniversary of Uy Vien General Nguyen Cong Tru... "These events have profound significance, attracting tens of thousands of people and tourists, contributing to spreading the good traditional cultural values of the locality, improving the quality of life for the people" - Mr. Phan Van Linh, Head of the Department of Culture - Information of Nghi Xuan District said.

In order to preserve and popularize folk art forms in the spiritual and cultural life of the people, the district organizes competitions: Reciting the Tale of Kieu; exploring Nghi Xuan through images and video clips; performing and screening art films about the Tale of Kieu - Nguyen Du... contributing to raising the awareness of the people, especially the young generation, in participating in preserving, protecting and promoting the cultural values of the locality and clans... Therefore, coming to any locality in Nghi Xuan, one can hear, see and feel the story of culture. Located in a "tri-junction" position, Nghi Xuan has rivers, mountains and sea. Xuan Thanh tourist area is considered a highlight of local sea tourism with its pristine beauty, clear blue water and white sand. This is a location near Cua Hoi bridge connecting to Nghe An and has quite convenient regional connections with localities of Ha Tinh along the coastal route. From Xuan Thanh to Nguyen Du relic site, Nguyen Cong Tru church, Tien Dien town is just over 10 kilometers.

In 2023, Xuan Thanh beach resort was chosen by the province to organize the opening of the provincial-level beach tourism season with the theme "Ha Tinh - Poetry page in harmony with the waves". Along with the unique and exciting activities in Nguyen Du Culture - Tourism Week, it brought new experiences to the people and tourists. Thousands of tourists enjoyed the experience of pulling nets, participating in the food festival, watching the performance "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai", excited about volleyball, tennis, golf tournaments, and visiting the night market, booths displaying OCOP products along with special music programs and beautiful fireworks displays on the opening night of beach tourism...

Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Attractions of the district said: "Thanks to the innovation in forms and promotional activities, Nghi Xuan tourism has improved a lot. The total number of visitors visiting and relaxing in the area reached more than 641,000, including 2,934 international visitors (an increase of 228% over the same period in 2022), reaching 183% of the plan for 2023.
