This is one of the important events to promote and introduce the steel industry and Vietnamese steel enterprises to the region and is an opportunity for stakeholders to share technologies, innovations and discuss towards the development of a green, circular economy.
At the conference, representatives of international and domestic organizations, experts, scientists and businesses shared and exchanged multi-dimensional information on policies and laws of Vietnam, the region and the world to help steel enterprises produce, trade and invest in development in accordance with the green growth strategy of the country and the world.

According to him Nghiem Xuan Da - Chairman of Vietnam Steel Association, we all know that the transition to a green economy is an inevitable trend to meet market demand, quickly applying technology to reduce CO2 emissions. Therefore, it is necessary to apply many technologies and artificial intelligence to improve productivity, while ensuring social responsibility and environmental responsibility.
Countries need to work together to ensure equitable development and a commitment to climate change in different contexts. Steel companies in Vietnam must make every effort to reduce carbon emissions and save energy in the coming time.

Steel is a basic, irreplaceable material for mankind and has important economic and technical significance, but it is also one of the three largest greenhouse gas emission industries in the world, responsible for 8% of global emissions.
Since 2015, the Vietnamese steel industry has developed and become one of the leading manufacturers in ASEAN in terms of production and consumption of finished steel products and ranked 12th in the world in crude steel production in 2023, with an output of 20 million tons.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee said that it can be said that the development of the Southeast Asian steel industry in general and the Vietnamese steel industry towards a green growth strategy is very important in implementing the orientations, goals, tasks and directions of the Vietnamese Government to implement Vietnam's commitments at the Climate Change Summit - COP26.
"Da Nang has also been constantly taking drastic measures to reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of renewable energy sources to protect the environment, and we believe that applying new and innovative technical advances in the steel industry will also play an important role in adapting to climate change, keeping the global temperature from rising by 1.5 degrees Celsius," Mr. Cuong shared.
