(Dan Tri) - Since November, a chickenpox outbreak has occurred in Giao Long Industrial Park, Ben Tre province. There have been 83 cases, and authorities believe the outbreak could spread in the near future.
On December 27, the Department of Health of Ben Tre province sent a report to the People's Committee of this province about the chickenpox epidemic that occurred at Alliance One Company, in Giao Long Industrial Park, Chau Thanh district.
Specifically, since the beginning of November, 83 cases have been recorded at workshop number 3 of the above-mentioned garment company. Alliance One Company has taken the cases to medical facilities for examination and instructed the patients to ensure infection prevention procedures.

Sick workers are required to return to work only when they are cleared of the disease as diagnosed by a doctor.
Ben Tre Department of Health stated that due to the disease spreading for a long time, the chickenpox outbreak in Giao Long Industrial Park is likely to increase in cases and spread to other companies and residential areas.
The Ben Tre Provincial Department of Health requested the Center for Disease Control to maintain a rapid response team to be ready for epidemic prevention activities and provide professional support to grassroots levels, industrial zones and clusters when an epidemic breaks out.
The Ben Tre Provincial Department of Health has also requested a review of the situation of human resources, chemicals, and supplies at the unit and provided advice to the District and City People's Committees to ensure there is no shortage when an epidemic occurs.
