Promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities in Bac Ai district

Bac Ai district has 9/9 communes in region III, of which 35/38 villages are in extremely difficult circumstances, including 10 ethnic groups living there. In recent years, prestigious people (NCUT) in ethnic minority areas in the district have played a good role as a "bridge" between the Party Committee, the government and the people, contributing to the successful implementation of the tasks of socio-economic development, poverty reduction, eliminating backward customs, building a grassroots political system, building great solidarity and promoting national cultural identity, ensuring security and order in the locality.

Coming to Ra Giua village, Phuoc Trung commune, asking for Mr. Mai Lien, everyone knows him because he is a NCUT in the area. In addition to mobilizing people to preserve the cultural identity of the Raglai people, he also actively participates in reconciling conflicts arising in the lives of families and clans. Besides, he actively mobilizes people to change the structure of crops and livestock suitable to the local climate conditions to improve the economic efficiency of the family. He himself is also a pioneer in developing production for people to follow. Thanks to hard work, his family has now developed a herd of over 30 cows, the area of land for production with proactive water is nearly 2 hectares, the family economy is stable, children and husband and wife live in harmony. Mr. Katơr Hoi's family in Ra Giua village used to have a difficult life. Since the local government and Mr. Lien promoted and encouraged the conversion of crops and livestock to develop the economy, his family boldly borrowed 20 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to buy cows and goats to raise. Thanks to hard work, the herd of cows and goats has grown to a total of over 30. Mr. Hoi shared: In the locality, people are very grateful to the local government and always respect Mr. Lien. Because he is not only a good businessman but also a person who inspires the Raglai people to realize the value of the land where they live, thereby striving to compete in labor production and escape poverty sustainably.

Like Mr. Lien, when coming to Phuoc Thang commune, asking Mr. Mai Van Duoi, everyone knows that he is a NCUT in the area. With his own experience, Mr. Duoi has mobilized people to take advantage of gardens, plots of land around his house and sloping land, land along rivers and streams that have long been ineffectively growing corn and beans to switch to growing bananas, fruit trees and developing livestock. Thanks to that, the lives of many families in the village have increasingly developed. The Raglai people here always respect Mr. Duoi. Ms. Chamaléa Thi Sieng in Ma Ty village said: In the locality, everyone loves Mr. Duoi because he often helps and guides people in developing family economy, resolving conflicts between families and clans. He mobilizes people to preserve the ethnic cultural identity. Besides, he conveyed the people's thoughts and aspirations in life in forums such as voter meetings so that superiors could know and thoroughly resolve them, thanks to which the new rural appearance in the locality is increasingly improving, and people's lives are increasingly developing.

Mr. Lien and Mr. Duoi are two of many typical examples of NCUT among ethnic minorities in Bac Ai district. In the district, there are 37 NCUT in the community in 38 villages of 9 communes. In recent years, NCUT in the district have always been exemplary, leading in economic development, building new rural areas; mobilizing people in residential areas to build great national unity, implementing patriotic emulation movements well; maintaining environmental sanitation; eliminating backward customs. A notable feature is that the team of NCUT in the district is not only a shining example in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction but also actively mobilizing families and people to promote emulation movements of good production workers, changing awareness and backward farming practices to intensive farming, combining with animal husbandry; applying scientific and technical advances in production. Thanks to that, people have known how to exploit the potential advantages of land to apply effective production models such as: Large-scale rice field model in Phuoc Chinh commune; "Water-saving irrigation" model; model of raising cows and goats for fattening and reproduction; conversion of crop and livestock structure... Through the implementation of effective production models, many households have had a stable life. In the field of maintaining security and order, NCUT always coordinates with the government and the police and military forces to propagate and mobilize people to raise vigilance, fight against all kinds of crimes, not listen to the distorted arguments of bad guys; together with the police and military forces to build a strong people's heart and security posture, maintain peace in villages and hamlets...
