Attending the conference were Lieutenant Colonel Tran Anh Nghia, Deputy Head of the Career Economic Department, Department of Finance ( Ministry of National Defense ), representatives of PMU 174, Ministry of National Defense; representatives of Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union and leaders of agencies and units with young intellectual volunteers coming to work, along with young intellectual volunteers of the second batch (2024-2026).

Accordingly, Project Management Board 174, Army Corps 15 coordinated with localities, units and widely informed on mass media about receiving young volunteer intellectuals. The Project Management Board received 35 applications, through review and assessment, the Project Management Board selected 19 young volunteer intellectuals who were in good health, had moral qualities, political qualities, qualifications, capacity, and professional expertise to meet the requirements of the task. Of which, 16 team members had university degrees, 3 team members had college degrees.

After 1 year of performing tasks at the units, young intellectuals have effectively implemented local economic development programs and contents, contributing to hunger eradication, poverty reduction, raising awareness, and changing people's way of applying advanced science and technology to farming and animal husbandry.

In particular, guiding people to take care of 19 hectares of rice and high-yield cassava in Duc Co district; guiding, assisting, and transferring techniques to 241 households in Chu Prong district; and planting 13 hectares of rice as a demonstration model to guide techniques to the people. Young intellectuals have coordinated with livestock units to raise more than 1,000 cattle to create a seed bank; helping 12 households to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the areas where the units are located.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Lam awarded prizes to individuals who had excellently completed the tasks of implementing the second phase (2024-2026) of the Young Intellectual Volunteer Project for the period 2021-2030 at the Economic - Defense Zone of Corps 15.

In addition, although the working areas of the units are mainly remote, isolated, and border areas, each team member, upon receiving the task and being assigned to work positions, is confident in their work, enthusiastic, not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships, knows how to share, overcome difficulties, actively participates with the unit to effectively perform tasks, directly teaches vocational skills to 328 people, helps 20 people eliminate illiteracy. Mobilizes 112 students to continue going to school after summer vacation; helps 54 students in difficult circumstances. Team members, together with the unit, organize medical examinations, admissions, treatment, and free medicine distribution to help 237 people, along with many other meaningful mass mobilization activities...
