Speaking at the opening of the conference, Party Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of the People's Representative Newspaper Pham Thi Thanh Huyen emphasized that over the past 36 years of development with ups and downs, the People's Representative Newspaper has affirmed its own identity and position in the press, especially when the newspaper was upgraded and renamed on August 27, 2009 according to Resolution 816 of the 12th National Assembly Standing Committee. This is an important milestone, affirming the new position and new prestige of the newspaper.

Over the past 15 years, in many positions: Chairman of the National Assembly, General Secretary, President and General Secretary, the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent letters of encouragement and support to the People's Representative Newspaper 4 times.
Taking to heart the advice of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Editor-in-Chief Pham Thi Thanh Huyen affirmed that the collective of the People's Representative Newspaper vows to constantly strive to create and innovate content and expression methods, with the motto of turning challenges into opportunities to break through, building a team of journalists with "bright minds, high intelligence and sharp pens" with the mission of being the voice of the National Assembly, a forum for National Assembly deputies, People's Councils and voters nationwide.

At the conference, delegates and collaborators contributed many ideas and proposed solutions to improve the quality of news articles; and found appropriate methods and measures to improve the quality and effectiveness of collaboration in propagating the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils.

The newspaper has promptly informed and propagated the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; informed about the activities of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly agencies, agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee and the activities of the National Assembly delegations and People's Councils at all levels.
The newspaper has reflected quite comprehensively, promptly, objectively and in-depth the activities of the National Assembly in the fields of legislation, supervision, decision on important issues of the country and foreign affairs, close to the thoughts and aspirations of voters and the people. Therefore, the People’s Representative Newspaper must innovate more strongly and substantially in the direction of becoming increasingly synchronous, professional, modern and effective.

For localities, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that local leaders should pay more attention to information and propaganda work on local newspapers along with propaganda on central news agencies and newspapers, directly the People's Representative Newspaper, to help local authorities share, learn experiences, and improve operational skills...
On this occasion, the People's Representative Newspaper awarded 3 collectives and 20 individual collaborators who made active contributions to informing and propagating the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils and contributing to the building and development of the People's Representative Newspaper.
