According to the national forestry planning orientation to 2030, regarding forest development: Promote scientific research, select and create new varieties with high productivity and quality, fast-growing native tree varieties with productivity and quality to serve the development of production forests and large timber forests. Ensure an average supply of 575 million trees/year.

In the 2021 - 2025 period, 1,178.4 thousand hectares will be planted, an average of 235.7 thousand hectares/year (178.4 thousand hectares will be newly planted, an average of 35.7 thousand hectares/year); in the 2026 - 2030 period, 1,288.8 thousand hectares will be planted, an average of 257.8 thousand hectares/year (88.8 thousand hectares will be newly planted, an average of 17.8 thousand hectares/year). The area of large timber forests by 2030 is expected to reach 1.0 million hectares.

By 2025, the forest area certified for sustainable forest management will reach about 500,000 hectares and will reach about 1 million hectares by 2030.

Wood and forest product processing and trading: Prioritize the use of modern, automated, and specialized equipment. Encourage the development of technology to create quality products with high added value. Develop high-quality human resources through innovation of training program content, linking training with practice; training based on orders and business needs. Prioritize state budget for investment and upgrading of facilities for training units. Prioritize the development of wood trading centers in high-tech forestry zones; build 01 international wood product trading center; develop programs and plans for trade promotion, market development, etc.

The estimated capital requirement for implementing the planning is 217,305 billion VND. Of which, in the period of 2021 - 2025, about 106,960 billion VND (State budget about 27,517 billion VND, accounting for 26%, other legal capital sources about 79,443 billion VND, accounting for 74%).
