Promoting innovation and technical improvements in the armed forces

The organizing committee judges the initiatives participating in the contest to promote initiatives and improve technical equipment and training tools in 2024 organized by the Provincial Military Command.

In order to promote the emulation movement to promote initiatives, technical improvements, research, and creation of models and training aids for training and combat readiness in the provincial military in 2024, the Provincial Military Command (CHQS) organized a competition to innovate and improve training aid models in the provincial military. With the goal of focusing on new, convenient, easy-to-manufacture, low-cost, high-safety initiatives and improvements, and the ability to apply them closely to training practices, the units brought to the competition 141 initiatives and improvements selected from participating units. At the competition, agencies and units paid attention and invested in quality models and training aids for training tasks, including many models and initiatives with creativity and good applicability, which were highly appreciated by the organizing committee.

As an active participant in the competition, the Thieu Hoa District Military Command continued to bring many initiatives and improvements. In particular, the initiatives "Remote alarm system", "Multi-purpose gun calibration set" of Major Nguyen Tri Thanh, Training Assistant, Thieu Hoa District Military Command, a cadre passionate about initiatives, most of Major Nguyen Tri Thanh's topics won high prizes. In particular, the topic "Programming and execution of shooting exercises" won the third prize of the Ministry of National Defense, the special excellent prize at Military Region 4, and the Nguyen Viet Xuan A prize; the product was handed over to be displayed at the Military Region 4 Museum and the copyright was handed over to the Ministry of National Defense for research and mass production to equip the entire army. In addition, topics such as: "Rearview mirrors using compressed air on armored vehicles" were applied throughout the army, participated in the provincial "Creative Youth" contest and won the third prize. Most recently, in 2024, the Provincial Military Command organized a competition for innovation and improvement of training equipment. Major Nguyen Tri Thanh continued to research, invent, manufacture and compete in 2 topics. Of which, the topic "Remote alarm system" won first prize; the initiative "Multi-purpose gun calibration kit" won third prize.

Major Nguyen Tri Thanh, Training Assistant, Thieu Hoa District Military Command, said: "In addition to professional working hours, with a passion for scientific research, I always take advantage of my days off and breaks to research initiatives in various fields of work. The initiative "Remote Alarm System" has brought into play superior and outstanding features to improve combat readiness, fire prevention and fighting...; has been tested, tested and equipped for Thieu Hoa District Military Command. This remote alarm system is used in 5 basic situations in the combat plan to protect agencies and units".

The emulation movement to promote initiatives, improve techniques, research and create models and training aids for combat readiness in the provincial military has encouraged and aroused all potentials and creativity of officers and soldiers in the work of researching initiatives and improving training models and training aids. Over the past 5 years, there have been more than 550 initiatives, improvements in training models and effective working solutions, such as: the model "Automatic sea shooting target" of the Dao Me Mixed Battalion, "Multi-purpose gun calibration set" of the Thieu Hoa District Military Command, "Controlling explosives of remote blasting sites" of the Nga Son District Military Command, "Remotely controlled hidden target stand for day and night target shooting" of the Thanh Hoa City Military Command and "Outdoor kitchen of the Quang Xuong District Military Command"..., which have been highly appreciated by the military region and the Ministry of National Defense, contributing significantly to improving the quality of training and combat readiness.

To achieve the above results, every year, the Provincial Military Command has focused on propaganda, mobilization, and effective implementation of innovation and technical improvement competitions to encourage the creativity of officers and soldiers. At the same time, it has selected initiatives and improved models, teaching aids, and training equipment to participate in competitions organized by all levels so that officers and soldiers have the opportunity to exchange, learn, and replicate products with high practical applications.

Colonel Le Van Chung, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said: "In the coming time, in order for the innovation movement in the provincial armed forces to develop more comprehensively, the Provincial Military Command will direct units to regularly pay attention to creating favorable conditions in terms of research environment, time, financial support, and contributing ideas for officers and soldiers to perfect their ideas and products. Thereby contributing to improving the quality of training and combat readiness."
