Bomb over 1m long discovered during road construction in Thanh Hoa

During the process of leveling land to make a road in Tan Thanh commune (Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province), the construction unit discovered a bomb more than 1 meter long underground.

Mr. Tran Van Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thanh Commune (Thuong Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province) said that a bomb measuring more than 1 meter long was recently discovered in the commune during road construction.

Previously, at around 10am this morning (November 11), the construction unit was working on a road near Ben Nha bridge (Thanh Lam village, Tan Thanh commune) when they discovered a large bomb, more than 1m long.

“We have reported the incident to the district level and the Military Command of Thuong Xuan district. For now, the locality has cordoned off the area, preventing people from approaching the area while waiting for the authorities to handle the matter,” said Mr. Tran Van Anh.
