At around 9:30 a.m. the same day, at the arrival terminal - International Passenger Terminal T2 - Noi Bai International Airport, during the customs clearance process for passengers entering the country on a flight from Hong Kong (China) to Noi Bai, the Import Luggage Procedures Team (Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch) discovered a foreign passenger with suspicious signs of hiding metal on his person.

Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch coordinated with the Police Department for Investigation of Crimes on Corruption, Economy , Smuggling, and Environment (Team 6) - Hanoi City Police and Noi Bai International Airport Police to inspect the luggage and goods of the above male passenger.

At the inspection area, the male passenger took out 7 pieces of metal suspected to be gold from his body.

The subject confessed that he was hired to transport gold from Hong Kong (China) to Vietnam. If he successfully entered the country, someone would pick him up and collect the gold with a transportation fee of 100 Hong Kong dollars per piece of gold.

Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch has handed over the transporter, documents and exhibits to the Department of Investigation Police for Corruption, Economic, Smuggling and Environmental Crimes - Hanoi City Police for investigation and handling according to regulations.
