Launching the Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam in 2024

On the morning of September 30, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (NCT) held a ceremony to launch the Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam in 2024 and commend outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system, period 2019-2024.

On behalf of the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board, comrade Dinh Ngoc Ha, Head of the Representative Board, launched the Action Month for the Vietnamese Elderly in the province in 2024.

With the theme "Joining hands to protect, care for and promote the role of the elderly", the Action Month 2024 has profound humanitarian significance, especially in the context of Vietnam being a country with a very rapid population aging rate, the elderly are increasingly numerous and are a force that needs to be actively promoted, and at the same time needs to be cared for...

To continue promoting the role of "The older the age, the higher the ambition, setting a shining example for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", actively contributing to the innovation led by the Party, the Action Month in Ninh Binh was organized to create all favorable conditions for the Elderly Association at all levels to operate effectively, build a strong Association; improve the effectiveness of elderly care work; strongly promote the role of the elderly in the patriotic emulation movement, contribute ideas, contribute efforts, intelligence, and experience to promote the movement of the elderly participating in building a clean and strong grassroots political system, contributing to the implementation of the task of socio -economic development, building advanced, exemplary new rural areas, civilized urban areas...

Regarding the movement of outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system in the period of 2019-2024: The whole province has 7,242 outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system. Of which, 660 people are at the commune level; 6,582 people are at the village, hamlet and street level; 1,349 elderly people participate in Party building; 1,355 people are at the government; 4,538 people are at the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and social organizations.

The movement has promoted the role of the Association at all levels in propagating and mobilizing cadres, members, the elderly and people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the province's tasks, improve the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism, and actively contribute ideas to build the Party and the government. Thereby affirming the role and position of the Association of the Elderly in effectively implementing political tasks and socio-economic development of the province...

At the conference, the opinions of the delegates who are typical elderly people clarified the process of participating in building the grassroots political system as well as their own lessons and experiences to successfully complete the task.

Comrade Do Viet Anh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to individuals with outstanding achievements.

On this occasion, 10 outstanding elderly individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee; 27 elderly individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board for their outstanding achievements in the movement of elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system in the period of 2019-2024.
