Conference overview.
Over 13 years of implementing the National Action Strategy on Gender Equality, the role and status of women in the province have changed positively, contributing to the completion of strategic goals, targets, and national programs on gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence. The province currently has 52/92 state management agencies and local authorities at all levels with key female leaders, reaching a rate of 56.52%. The total number of employed workers in the province is 18,503, of which 9,627 are female, accounting for 52.02% of the workforce. The rate of trained female workers is 51.01% of the total number of trained workers; health care for women and children is focused on.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Month of Action for Gender Equality is organized to attract attention, enhance the role, responsibility and effectiveness of coordination work of all levels and sectors from the province to the locality. Thereby, mobilizing the strength of the entire political system and the entire population to participate in implementing gender equality and preventing and responding to gender-based violence; empowering women and girls, ensuring social security for the goal of sustainable development.
Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the ceremony.
To successfully organize the Action Month for Gender Equality, he called for the joint efforts of all sectors, levels, social organizations and communities, especially men and boys, to act together to eliminate gender inequality and end violence against women and girls; promote the implementation of laws, policies, and social mobilization on gender equality and prevention and control of gender-based violence; encourage and call on everyone to speak up and act together to eliminate gender inequality and end violence against women and children.
Leaders of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality in the province in 2024.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality in Ninh Thuan province in 2024.
