Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union Pham Thi My Hoa said: "Ao dai has long been a cultural symbol, a symbol of elegance, modesty and gentleness of Vietnamese women. Although time has changed, although society has developed, the ao dai has always held a firm place in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
In modern times, when the country integrates internationally, the Ao Dai still retains its traditional beauty, but at the same time it is also innovated and transformed to suit global fashion trends. The Ao Dai not only appears in traditional festivals, but also becomes a favorite outfit of women in international events, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture to the world.
Hanoi Ao Dai Month 2024 is an opportunity to honor the role of women in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. We can see that women are not only the keepers of the family fire, but also the ones who actively contribute to the development of society."
