BTO-Towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025); the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Ministry of Public Security presided over and coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ministry of Information and Communications to organize the Press Award with the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023 - 2025.
I. PURPOSE, REQUIREMENTS
1. Widely disseminate information, strengthen trust, and promote the responsibility of the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army for the task of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.
2. Affirm the important position and role of the press in propaganda to ensure security and order; encourage, motivate, recognize and honor press reporters and people in writing and creating more and more press works on the topic "For national security and peaceful life".
3. The organization, content and form of the entries must be professional, meaningful and effective.
II. CONTEST NAME AND TIME
1. Name: Journalism award with the theme "For national security and peaceful life" for the period 2023 - 2025.
2. Time of organization:
- Launch of the Press Award: June 2023
- Time to receive entries: Entries must be sent to Binh Thuan Provincial Police (via room PX03) before March 30, 2025 for collection.
- Preliminary selection: From May 10, 2025 to May 20, 2025.
- Final selection: From June 1, 2025 to June 10, 2025.
- Summary of the Press Award: In 2025, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) (from June 21, 2025 - August 2025).
III. CONTENT, AUTHOR, WORK, PRIZES AND FUNDING
1. Content of the work:
Entries for the Contest must demonstrate as much of the following content as possible:
- Disseminate and propagate the results of organizing the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ensuring security and order and building the Vietnam People's Public Security force.
- Reflecting the tradition of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force; the leadership of the Party and State with the People's Public Security Force; the outstanding achievements and feats, the contributions of the People's Public Security Force in ensuring security and order and building the force; the difficulties, hardships and challenges of the People's Public Security Force in performing its tasks; proposing tasks and solutions in ensuring security and order and building the People's Public Security Force.
- Reflecting the role, active contributions and close relationship between the People's Public Security with the People's Army, central and local ministries, branches and departments; the support and assistance of the people and international friends to the People's Public Security force on the front of ensuring security and order.
- Discover and introduce advanced models, good experiences, good people, good deeds in life and combat of the People's Public Security Forces; in the movement of All People Protecting National Security.
- Detect and reflect current policies and regulations on ensuring security and order, building the People's Public Security force that are still inadequate and inappropriate and need to be revised and supplemented. Propose solutions and directions to remove difficulties and obstacles, and improve the effectiveness of security and order protection in the coming time.
- Inform, identify, and warn about plots and tricks, especially new tricks to sabotage the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. Fight and refute erroneous, hostile viewpoints, and malicious information related to security and order work.
2. About the author:
- All journalists, collaborators, cadres, party members and people (with Vietnamese nationality, currently living in Vietnam) with press works on the topic "For national security and peaceful life".
- Each author can submit 3 works. Each group of authors can have no more than 7 people. For the photojournalism category, each author can submit a maximum of 5 works (single photo or group of photos, each group of photos can have no more than 10 photos).
- Members of the Jury and the Organizing Committee do not submit entries.
3. About the work:
- Types of press participating in the Award include: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and press photos.
- Genres: Research articles, reflections, interviews, notes, reports, documentaries, news, special topics, columns, discussions, investigations, memoirs, comments, monographs, multimedia journalism products (video clips on online newspapers are not accepted).
- Works considered for the Award must ensure authenticity, objectivity, accuracy, be convincing, and highly orient public opinion; have a positive impact in serving the fight against crime, ensuring national security, social order and safety, and be published and broadcast on all types of press (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television) licensed by competent State agencies and ensure compliance with the regulations on posting and broadcasting time of the Award Organizing Committee.
- The works submitted to the Award must clearly state that they were published and first broadcast from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024 on newspapers and radio stations; have confirmation from the press agency and a brief introduction of the work. The Organizing Committee will not return the works and reserves the right to use the winning works for propaganda purposes.
- Works that have won the National Press Award will not be accepted. Works that have won awards at the Central and local press awards are eligible to participate in the Award but must clearly state the award level, information about the unit, and time of the Award.
- The Organizing Committee is not responsible for copyright.
- The Organizing Committee has the right to use the winning works for communication.
4. Prizes:
- Special prize: worth 80,000,000 VND
- First Prize: 50,000,000 VND.
- Second Prize: 30,000,000 VND.
- Third Prize: 20,000,000 VND.
- Consolation Prize: 10,000,000 VND.
- Prize for Excellent Press Agency: 20,000,000 VND.
The structure includes: 1 special prize, 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 15 third prizes, 25 consolation prizes and a number of awards for press agencies, inter-branch associations, journalist branches and agencies, organizations at all levels and sectors that actively participate and have many quality works during the Award period.
5. Funding: organizing the Press Awards is part of the regular budget of the Ministry of Public Security and uses other legal funding sources (if any).
