The writing contest “Overcoming Fate” after 5 times of organization has truly spread the good, humane and meaningful message throughout society. The contest also received letters of encouragement, praise and congratulations from the leaders of the Party, State and Government.
Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Magazine said: “In addition to the purpose of promoting, introducing, honoring and replicating examples of young people and people with disabilities who are in difficult circumstances but always nurture a strong will and desire to overcome harsh fate, this year, the Organizing Committee continues to launch the 6th "Overcoming Fate" writing contest, with a new point responding to the 2023 theme of the Central Youth Union on "Digital transformation of Youth Union activities".
We hope to continue to receive the attention, companionship, and support of individuals, agencies, and businesses, contributing to the "ecosystem" of better care for the disadvantaged and disabled so that they have more motivation to overcome adversity and rise up to take control of their lives. These are also gifts of special significance to the Organizing Committee of the 6th contest.
Through the contest, we call for the attention of society, the companionship and support of philanthropists, individuals, businesses and organizations to contribute funds to award prizes and savings books to a number of individuals in particularly difficult circumstances who have made efforts to overcome, become shining examples for young people to learn and follow, practically welcoming the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Student Association, term 2023 - 2028".
The contestants are individuals, groups, and people of all walks of life living and working in Vietnam. The content is about real people and real events with clear and specific addresses of people with disabilities, orphans, especially young people and teenagers who have overcome disabilities, unfortunate fates, painful and harsh circumstances to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic; Demonstrating the strong will, dynamism, and creativity of young people in establishing themselves, starting a career, and rising up to take control of their lives.
In addition, the author can focus on writing about examples of disabled children who have the spirit of overcoming difficulties, are dynamic, creative, approach science and technology, are typical in participating in digital transformation, effectively applying scientific and technological achievements to life, contributing to promoting the successful implementation of the 2023 theme of "Youth pioneering digital transformation" launched by the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union...
The articles must be between 800 and under 3,000 Vietnamese words long. The entries must be in the form of a video clip reportage of 3-5 minutes long. The time for receiving articles is from the date of launching the contest to August 30, 2023 (according to the postmark or the date of sending the email). The award ceremony of the 6th "Overcoming Fate" writing contest will be held in mid-October 2023, as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the founding of Thanh Nien Magazine.
Within the framework of the program, Thanh Nien Magazine signed a cooperation agreement, contributing to the development of the Youth Scientific Research Magazine with the following units: Youth of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; People's Public Security Academy of Politics; Youth Union of Political Officer School; Institute of Journalism - Academy of Journalism and Propaganda.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented thousands of digital library cards to schools, contributing to raising awareness of reading culture, arousing a love of reading, self-study awareness and lifelong learning.
