Launching the Music Month Contest "Dien Bien Songs"

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the Vietnam Musicians Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province launched the Music Month of Dien Bien Songs.

The participating works have content about the great historical value and the great, profound significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory for the nation and the era; the heroic spirit, intelligence, creativity, intellectual fortitude, and determination to fight and win of our army and people; the shining examples of soldiers, frontline laborers, youth volunteers... and the people of all walks of life and forces serving the Campaign.

Or the work reflects the economic, defense, security, cultural and social achievements of the ethnic groups in the Northwest and Dien Bien province in the echoes of the Dien Bien Phu Victory over the past 70 years.

The campaign aims to arouse and promote the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the will to fight and win in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Organizing Committee deeply expressed gratitude for the sacrifices of soldiers and people for the glorious victory of the country; honored the great contributions of generations of Vietnamese people in the cause of national construction with the spirit of "Dien Bien Phu Victory - Vietnam's Strength, Era's Stature".

The participating works are songs composed in musical styles that are legally circulated in Vietnam. Each participating author can submit no more than two works.

The participating works must be unpopular songs that have won prizes in any competitions at the central, local and other departments and sectors. The Organizing Committee will not consider awards for works that copy or imitate the ideas, melodies, lyrics of other authors at home and abroad...

The Organizing Committee plans to award 1 first prize worth 100 million VND; 2 second prizes, each worth 50 million VND; 4 third prizes, each worth 30 million VND; 8 consolation prizes, each worth 10 million VND, and a number of other thematic prizes.

The deadline for receiving entries is April 24. Preliminary and final selections will be held and final entries will be posted on the Tiktok platform from April 25 to May 15.

The Gala Awards Night will take place on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.

The music month was organized practically, safely, effectively, economically, with high propaganda and education significance, attracting a large number of participants; and had a profound influence on all classes of people.

The Organizing Committee has the right to use all works of authors participating in the campaign to serve the organization or serve political, social, propaganda, publishing tasks, use in cultural and artistic programs or political events... in any form without having to pay royalties to the authors.
