Dear Chinese and Vietnamese comrades,
Dear friends and young people of the two countries,
Today, I am very pleased to meet with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping again our friends and comrades from China and Vietnam who have made many contributions to the Vietnam-China friendship on the occasion of the historic visit of Comrade Xi Jinping, his wife - Professor Peng Liyuan and the high-ranking delegation of the Chinese Party and State to Vietnam.
I was particularly moved to meet again the Chinese intellectuals, officials and relatives of the Chinese comrades who had helped Vietnam during the years of struggle for national independence. I also felt full of joy and confidence when meeting the young people of the two countries with the aspiration to follow in the footsteps of previous generations, bringing vitality and a bright future to the Vietnam-China relationship. I would like to send to all of you my warm greetings, sincere greetings, warm feelings and best wishes.
As we all know, the friendship between Vietnam and China has many fine traditions; the people of the two neighboring countries have a close and intimate relationship, which is beautifully expressed in the song Vietnam-China by the very famous Vietnamese musician Do Nhuan: "Bathing in the same river, I look over there, you look over here/Early morning we hear the same rooster crowing". Under the leadership of the two Communist Parties, the people of the two countries have given each other much valuable support and assistance in the past struggle for national independence and the present cause of building socialism. The Party, State and People of Vietnam always respect, remember and highly appreciate the strong and great support of the Party, State and People of China for Vietnam.

This visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and his wife is very meaningful, coming at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Over the past years, the relationship between the two Parties, two countries and two peoples has had many important, profound and comprehensive developments. This is reflected in the strengthened mutual understanding and trust, the two countries have become each other's leading economic partners; defense and security cooperation has become one of the pillars of the relationship, cooperation in other fields and people-to-people exchanges have been continuously expanded and increasingly enriched.
Here, I would like to reiterate the very profound and meaningful speech of Comrade General Secretary and President Xi Jinping at the 15th Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting on the occasion of my visit to China with the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam in April 2015, which is: " Relations between countries are based on the intimacy of the people, and the intimacy of the people comes from the young generation" . This is also the message, the spirit of the meeting between me and Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife with representatives of friendship personalities and the young generation of Vietnam - China today.

On the occasion of this meeting with you, comrades and friends today, I am pleased to announce that the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, his wife and the high-ranking Chinese delegation has been a great success. On the basis of the traditional friendship and the achievements of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in recent years, the two Parties and two countries have agreed to continue to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance for the happiness of the people of the two countries, for the cause of peace and progress of humanity.
The two sides agreed to reach many important common perceptions. The Joint Statement between the two countries has set out specific and comprehensive directions; together with the signed cooperation documents in many fields, it creates a framework and lays important foundations for the continued development of cooperative relations between the two Parties, two countries and two peoples in the new period, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries.
One of the most important and fundamental directions of cooperation in the Vietnam-China relationship, as affirmed in the Joint Statement, is to consolidate a more solid social foundation . The deep and earnest aspirations of the people of the two countries for friendship, peace, cooperation and development for generations are the great source of strength and the solid foundation for the belief in a bright future of the relationship between the two neighboring brotherly countries on the path to building socialism. I welcome and appreciate the sentiments and positive, extremely important contributions of the people of the two countries, in which the intellectuals and youth play a core role. I believe and hope that the intellectuals and youth of the two countries will continue to actively contribute to the joint efforts to develop a solid, stable, long-term and effective Vietnam - China relationship, in line with the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh's saying, which was highly welcomed and shared by Chairman Mao Zedong as "the close Vietnam - China relationship, both comrades and brothers".

I wish and firmly believe that the fraternal Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as the core and with the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, will promote historic victories in the 10 years of the new era, successfully implement the guidelines of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and build China into a modern socialist power that is prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, and harmonious.
May the relationship between the two Parties, two countries and two peoples be forever green and everlasting.
Wishing General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, his wife - Professor Peng Liyuan, and all Chinese and Vietnamese comrades good health, happiness, and success.
