In the friendly match of Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) on January 30 to raise funds to help athletes and former athletes who have not had much luck in life, Phan Van Duc was chosen by coach Kiatisuk to start.
During the 50 minutes on the field, the Nghe An player played very hard. He has almost fully recovered from his injury and can return from the upcoming round 9 of V-League 2023/24.
Previously, Phan Van Duc suffered a ligament injury in the match where CAHN won 3-1 against Khanh Hoa in the 2023 National Cup. After surgery, the player born in 1996 took nearly a year to be able to play football.
With the return of Phan Van Duc, this is good news for CAHN. If he performs well in the upcoming rounds of V-League, Van Duc can be called up to the Vietnam national team under coach Troussier.
The French coach is in dire need of smart players who can attack and defend well like Phan Van Duc, in order to beat Indonesia in two important matches in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup taking place next March.
In addition to Phan Van Duc, a series of pillars of the Vietnamese team such as Van Hau, Que Ngoc Hai, Hoang Duc, Tien Linh... have also recovered from injuries and are ready for the training session in March.
In a recent post, defender Doan Van Hau said: "My injury is recovering well, I hope to help the team achieve good results this season. I really hope to recover in time and be called up to the Vietnam national team to compete in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers."
