Recently, a series of parody songs and images have appeared on the TikTok platform, causing public outrage. These dirty contents have spread quickly and have been enthusiastically responded to by young people, making many people angry and upset.
Parody songs distort and insult history
In recent days, TikTok has been flooded with the music "The Little Boy" with the content parodying the poem "Lượm" by poet To Huu. The music with offensive, meaningless, and nonsense lyrics on the background of loud Vinahouse music is becoming popular, making the majority of the public angry and indignant.
The song parody of the poem "Lượm" was used for many videos, some posts received millions of views.
The viral song on TikTok has more than tens of millions of views on this platform. The parody song has been used in a series of videos, some of which have up to 10 million views. Notably, in many videos, users pose offensively, even standing on tables and chairs, wearing ao dai but in inappropriate positions or wearing bikinis.
The lyrics of the parody are also considered meaningless, not keeping the spirit of the original. "Skinny boy, pretty bag, nimble legs, cropped head"... That is the content of the rap song.
In response to criticism from the audience, rapper 2See - the owner of the song - recorded a clip to apologize and regret for having parodied the lyrics of the poem "Lượm" by musician Tố Hữu. According to 2See, two years ago when the trend of parodying music was popular, he combined many sentences on the internet to create a song and released it. The author also hid the song on YouTube and deleted the original parody song on all platforms.
DJ FWIN - who made the remix for the rap song also said that his version was the most used by TikTok users, reaching millions of views, but when faced with negative reactions from the audience, he decided to remove it.
However, even though the original version was removed from the platforms, there are still hundreds of reposted and reused songs, causing outrage among listeners.
Parody songs are flooding YouTube and TikTok with millions of views.
Or like Vanh Leg - a famous name with parody songs that caused controversy because of the offensive lyrics of the song " Love Vietnam Too Much " into "Birds in a cage, birds fly out, birds spread their wings and tear their pants apart. Birds fly to a faraway place" in the video "Singer's Dream".
Many families were shocked to hear their children sing songs with vulgar lyrics, originating from "trash" on social networks.
The song "Mother's Legend" by the late musician Trinh Cong Son was also parodied, causing outrage: "At night, I sat by the lamp counting silver, a green fifty-dollar bill, mother stood guard with a gun, her child sat with a knife..." or " The sound of pestles on Bom Bo hamlet" was parodied with vulgar lyrics: "When I ran out of money to spend, I also sold my lover/ Sold five hundred to get money to spend, after spending, I remembered my lover. I worked as a servant for three years to redeem my lover..."
Most recently, a clip has been circulating on social media recording a group of young people shouting and adding and modifying some sentences, turning Nam Quoc Son Ha into a parody poem used when drinking.
The poem Nam Quoc Son Ha had the effect of encouraging the soldiers' spirit in the war against the Song invaders. This is also considered the first declaration of independence of Vietnam.
Therefore, the act of using the poem, considered the first declaration of independence of our country, to make a slogan to shout loudly at parties, drinking parties, and even to put it on social networks as a new trend has made many people angry and even strongly condemn it. They think that it is a defamation of the nation's history, an unacceptable insult and distortion of history.
When artists lend a hand to "trash music"
The parody song that Le Duong Bao Lam sang in 2019 suddenly became popular on TikTok recently. The lyrics of the song are not only meaningless but also destroy the emotions of the Doraemon comic series that is associated with the childhood of many people. The parody song is completely different from the content of the Japanese comic series.
The song has the following content: “Xeko’s mother is poor, Chaien’s mother is rich, and Nobita always bullies his friends. Nobita secretly loves Xuka, picks roses to give to Chaien. If Chaien agrees to marry Nobita, then Nobito will be born.”
Le Duong Bao Lam's toxic parody song once caused a stir on TikTok.
It’s ridiculous, but on TikTok, clips of Le Duong Bao Lam singing this parody song all have very high views, attracting hundreds of thousands, even tens of millions of views on average. It’s worrying that many children also know the lyrics to this parody song by heart to sing it again.
With the dizzying speed of spreading on TikTok, the parody music easily became a hit. Many celebrities even freely lip-synced or danced along to get views.
Despite the content being completely different from the comic series associated with the childhood of millions of people and the nonsense lyrics, Le Duong Bao Lam still introduced "the song he composed" many times on game shows. After being condemned, the actor edited the lyrics, changing the position to match the content of the famous Japanese comic series.
Of course, TikTok cannot be blamed entirely. When Le Duong Bao Lam sang on television, many artists did not react but clapped and cheered their colleagues enthusiastically. Many Vietnamese stars even "followed the trend" by using this parody song for their humorous videos.
Le Duong Bao Lam has put his parody music on television many times.
In addition, Di Di, Hau Hoang, Thien An... are also influential and famous people thanks to parody music. Their products aim for humor but most of them are easy, superficial, and sometimes offensive laughter.
They forget that these offensive products have a huge impact on the public, especially young audiences who are easily swept up in trends without fully realizing their harmful effects.
Lesson 2: Remixed music distorts young people's thinking about the country's culture and history.
