(CLO) Most voters are concerned about the safety of President-elect Donald Trump at his inauguration on January 20, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.
Specifically, the poll found that 55% of voters were concerned about his safety. A breakdown of those numbers showed that 37% of Democrats were concerned about his safety, and 80% of Republicans.
Mr Trump announced on Friday that the inauguration would be moved indoors due to forecasts of low temperatures.
Public concern is partly related to the fact that Mr. Trump suffered three assassination attempts during his election campaign last year.
In 2017, Rasmussen found that 51% were concerned about Trump's safety ahead of his first inauguration.

At least six in 10 voters, or 64%, said they plan to watch at least part of Trump's second inauguration on TV, including 18% who said they will watch most of the ceremony and 26% who said they will watch the entire thing.
Meanwhile, 32% said they had no plans to watch any inaugurations on Monday. According to Rasmussen, the latest findings are largely unchanged from Trump’s first inauguration eight years ago.
Republicans are the most likely political group to watch Monday, with 85% saying they plan to watch at least part of it on TV, including 42% who said they expect to watch the entire inauguration.
Just 54% of Democrats said they had no plans to watch any of Mr. Trump’s inaugurations, according to the survey. And 63% of independents said they expected to watch at least part of the inauguration, including 20% who said they would watch the entire thing.
Meanwhile, 63% of white voters, 61% of black voters, 68% of Latino voters and 59% of other minority voters said they would watch at least part of the ceremony on TV.
Nearly 90% of those who voted for Mr Trump in the 2024 presidential election said they would watch at least part of his inauguration on TV, while 60% of those who voted for Kamala Harris said they would not watch any part of the inauguration.
Voters earning less than $100,000 a year are more likely to watch Mr Trump's inauguration on TV on Monday, according to the survey.
The poll was conducted from January 13 to 15 and surveyed 1,330 likely U.S. voters. The margin of error is about 3 percentage points.
