Previously, a Facebook account believed to be the victim's husband posted an article and photos, reflecting that his wife, Ms. LTC (born in 1980, residing in Noi Don village, Tan Lien commune, Vinh Bao district) was hospitalized to give birth at Vinh Bao District General Hospital, and later died.
Also in the article, the owner of the above Facebook account said that behind the death of the pregnant woman, there were signs related to the responsibility of Vinh Bao General Hospital, however, more than 1 month since Ms. LTC died, the family has not yet received a satisfactory explanation from the hospital and related authorities.
The photo of the pregnant woman LTC was posted on social networks by relatives.
Regarding this incident, Ms. Lam Thi Huyen, Director of Vinh Bao General Hospital confirmed that the information that the pregnant woman LTC was admitted to the hospital to give birth is true.
Specifically, the pregnant woman LTC came to complete the admission procedures to give birth at Vinh Bao General Hospital at 6:46 a.m. on March 5. Here, the pregnant woman was examined, had an ultrasound, tests, an electrocardiogram, and was admitted to the hospital along with other professional procedures.
At 7:25 p.m. on the same day, March 5, the hospital agreed on the diagnosis and ordered a cesarean section to deliver the 3.3 kg baby girl. During the surgery, the pregnant woman was conscious, had good contact, and all related indicators were stable. However, immediately after the surgery, the pregnant woman experienced grade III anaphylactic shock, which continued to progress to grade IV anaphylactic shock.
Doctors at Vinh Bao General Hospital treated the patient according to the Ministry of Health 's anaphylaxis protocol, focused on emergency treatment, and consulted with Kien An Hospital (Hai Phong City) to transfer the patient to Kien An Hospital at 10:15 p.m. on March 5. After that, the mother's condition worsened, and she was transferred to Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital that same night, and by 5 a.m. on March 6, the mother had died.
Director of Vinh Bao General Hospital Lam Thi Huyen affirmed that the hospital has followed the correct professional procedures, diagnosed and prescribed the correct surgery, treated according to the correct treatment regimen, focused on the hospital's highest capacity, dedicated to the patient, and had no errors in professional skills and service attitude.
It is known that the victim's family has sent a petition to relevant authorities requesting clarification. Vinh Bao General Hospital has also sent a document to the Hai Phong Department of Health to report the incident.
