On the afternoon of October 10, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh chaired a meeting with key departments, branches and localities on solutions to promote, advertise and boost tourism development in the last months of 2024 to achieve the goal of welcoming 19 million tourists, including 3.5 million international visitors this year.

With diverse routes, destinations and tourism products, high quality services, in the first 9 months of 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors, up 20% over the same period in 2023, equal to 98.1% of the 9-month growth scenario. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 36,856 billion, up 39% over the same period in 2023, reaching 97.8% of the 9-month growth scenario. Notably, there were nearly 2.6 million international visitors, mainly from the following markets: China, Korea, Taiwan (China), USA, India, France, Australia, UK, Germany, Japan.

In 9 months, 132/186 programs and events were successfully organized, attracting the participation of a large number of tourists to Quang Ninh. Some typical event programs: Ha Long Carnival Festival; Hot Air Balloon Festival in Ha Long City; Ha Long Sailing Festival; VN Express Marathon Amazing 2024...
In addition, the Department of Tourism, Quang Ninh Tourism Association and tourism businesses have participated in a number of domestic and international tourism promotion fairs. At the same time, they have effectively promoted sea tourism, connected international flights, as well as new tourism products.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the provincial tourism sector aims to welcome 3,361,000 visitors (909,000 international visitors). To achieve this goal, the sector has proposed that some localities increase the number of visitors, while focusing on propaganda and promotion at home and abroad. Localities, departments, sectors and units continue to focus on cleaning up the landscape and environment in coastal areas and tourist areas; pay attention to ensuring the tourism environment; organize cultural, tourism and sports activities and events to attract visitors...
In her concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh requested the Department of Tourism, relevant sectors and localities to continue to make efforts to implement 186 programs and events to promote tourism, exploiting 67 new tourism products proposed at the beginning of the year. In particular, from now until the end of the year, new tourism products and major events and activities will be announced, such as: Korea - Vietnam Grand Music Festival; Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024; Vietnam - China Cross-Border Running Race; Binh Lieu Cultural Tourism Week; Autumn tourism activities and events in Uong Bi... Urgently put into operation 3 beaches Soi Sim, Hang Co, Trinh Nu on Ha Long Bay; organize art performances combined with light parties in some qualified caves on the Bay; identify 7 pristine island areas and beaches for the billionaire and super-luxury segment of 1% of the world's population. Organize an event to mark the milestone of welcoming the 17 millionth tourist and the 3 millionth international visitor to Quang Ninh. Strive to organize the first cruise ship to experience Bai Tu Long Bay by the end of October; at the same time, continue to promote and issue a plan to develop the fleet, in which Bai Tu Long Bay strives to reach 100 cruise ships, with newly built high-quality ships. Build all-inclusive experience packages connecting key tourist destinations and localities of the province with preferential prices and guaranteed service quality. Diversify autumn and winter tourism products, develop 4-season tourism. Promote cruise tourism, from the success of the cruise route from Hong Kong, Guangdong (China) - Ha Long; continue to promote the cruise route from Bac Hai - Ha Long. Pay attention to promoting flight connections through Van Don International Airport. Strengthen communication and promotion on reputable news channels, pay attention to reaching diverse customer sources on social networking platforms.
One of the key solutions from now until the end of the year, the province will organize working groups to directly promote and advertise tourism at industrial parks, large domestic economic groups, foreign enterprises with abundant sources of visitors, who have the need to visit, relax and hold year-end conferences; promote potential southern markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Dong Nai. The solutions ensure feasibility and effectiveness, with the highest efforts to achieve the set goals.
