Strive to technically open National Highway 28B before September 1

On April 19, the working delegation led by Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham Hong Thai directly inspected the actual site of the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B connecting Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces. The delegation was also joined by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council and relevant departments and branches.

The project to upgrade National Highway 28B connecting Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces is about 68 km long, of which the section through Bac Binh district (Binh Thuan province) is about 51 km long, the section through Duc Trong district (Lam Dong province) is about 17 km long, with a total investment of 1,435 billion VND. The investor is Project Management Board 5 (Vietnam Road Administration).

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B connecting Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces has a route length of about 68 km.

According to the investor's quick report, for the construction package of the section Km 42+00-Km 69+00, construction started on April 19, 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into use on October 15, 2025. Up to now, the implementation time has been 60% but the area of ​​land handover has only been 9/27 km (reaching 33%). Most of the construction items such as roads, viaducts, bored piles... are on schedule.

Some technical infrastructure works, medium and low voltage power lines, telecommunication poles and trees are located within the scope of roadbed and road surface expansion.

However, some items such as the construction of viaduct No. 1 and 3 repaired and reinforced bridges are behind schedule. Some sections and routes still face difficulties in site clearance, conversion of forest use purposes, technical infrastructure works, medium and low voltage power lines, telecommunication poles and trees within the scope of roadbed and road surface expansion to serve the construction...

After inspecting the site and listening to the report of the investor, the leaders of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested Project Management Board 5 to urgently speed up the construction progress. For the road section in Lam Dong, the functional units urgently hand over the entire construction site in April and open the technical traffic before September 1, 2025.

The goal is to ensure the overall progress of the project; at the same time, complete the remaining work in Lam Dong to facilitate travel for people of the two provinces, especially in the context of preparing for the merger .

In Binh Thuan province, the Provincial People's Committee is actively directing relevant departments and branches to coordinate to speed up the handover of construction sites. In addition, the province has requested Project Management Board 5 to strictly implement requirements on construction quality, paying special attention to measures to ensure safety and prevent weather impacts in the upcoming rainy season.

National Highway 28B connecting Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces is being urgently constructed by units.

To keep up with the overall progress, the leaders of Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces have requested the construction unit to implement the motto of "3 shifts, 4 teams", working through holidays and days off, mobilizing maximum human resources, equipment and construction vehicles to complete the construction of the entire route, open to technical traffic before September 1, meeting the requirements for serving the province merger.
