Striving to turn Kim Son into a dynamic coastal economic zone with new growth pole of the province

On the morning of January 24, Kim Son district organized a summary of the patriotic emulation movement in 2023, launched the emulation movement in 2024 and met to celebrate the Party and the New Year of the Dragon.

Attending the event were comrades: Dinh Viet Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Colonel Dang Trong Cuong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department.

In 2023, the district will carry out patriotic emulation movements extensively, practically, in line with the local situation and associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Thereby, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, encouraging collectives and individuals to promote the spirit of innovation, creativity, and determination to exceed assigned targets and plans.

Notably, the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" is implemented. In 2023, the whole district will have 26 more new rural hamlets, 4 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, and 9 OCOP products. Notably, in August 2023, Kim Son district was recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards in 2022, 2 years earlier than planned. This has affirmed the district's strong and steady development in the process of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

The work of building the government and leading the socio-economic development has achieved good results. Agriculture has developed in an organic direction, with rice output reaching nearly 100 thousand tons; aquatic and seafood output reaching over 36 thousand tons, the product value per hectare of cultivated land is estimated at 200 million VND, the highest in the province. Industry and services have recovered and developed. The district ranks first in the province in terms of the district-level competitiveness index (DDCI), and second in terms of the administrative reform index of districts and cities.

Social security work has been given attention, being a highlight of the whole country in the cornea donation movement and building solidarity between religions and non-religious people; mobilizing religious people and the people to practice a cultural lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals has achieved high results. Security, national defense, and border protection have been strengthened, social order and safety have been ensured. The district has completed 11/12 planned targets, of which 8 targets exceeded the plan.

With the achievements, in 2023, Kim Son district had 10 agencies and units awarded the Emulation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee; 12 units were awarded the title of Excellent Labor Collective; 46 collectives and 58 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were also awarded by the District People's Committee.

At the conference, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kim Son district launched an emulation movement throughout the Party Committee, government, organizations, armed forces, and people in the district. In particular, focusing on effectively implementing Resolution No. 11 dated June 26, 2022 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on sustainable development of the coastal economic zone of Kim Son district, period 2022-2030. Promoting organic agricultural development associated with improving the quality and value of agricultural products; developing aquaculture in the direction of applying high technology, associated with sea tourism. Improving the quality of criteria for a new rural district. Actively promoting and attracting investment in developing infrastructure for industrial zones, clusters, and points. Striving to turn Kim Son into a dynamic coastal economic zone, a new growth pole of the province.

* On this occasion, comrade Dinh Viet Dung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, visited and wished a Happy New Year to the Kim Son District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee on the eve of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024.

On this occasion, he also presented gifts to the Nguyen Cong Tru Scholarship and Talent Promotion Fund.
