At the end of 2024, the Vinh Phuc Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center (where Nguyen Thi Huong trains) issued a notice on the temporary suspension of regular training of sports teams. The document stated: "Based on Decision No. 65/QD-SVHTTDL dated January 29, 2024 of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the assignment of targets for coaches and athletes of sports teams under the Vinh Phuc Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center in 2024; Based on the request of the sports teams and the actual situation of not being provided with regular training nutrition for coaches and athletes. The Vinh Phuc Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center announces:
Suspend regular training of sports teams from December 24, 2024 until regular funding is provided in 2024. Require coaches and athletes during the suspension of training to comply with legal regulations in speaking and providing accurate information about not having a regular nutrition regimen and participating in traffic to ensure safety and comply with traffic laws.
The coach hands over the athlete to his family for management during the suspension of regular training. During the suspension of regular training, the family is responsible for all activities of the athlete. The Training and Athlete Management Department monitors the situation and reports to the Board of Directors the movement of the athlete when he returns home."

As Thanh Nien previously reported, the talented face of Vietnamese sports, athlete Nguyen Thi Huong, has written a request to stop practicing rowing in Vinh Phuc province from January 1, 2025. In the request to stop practicing, the girl born in 2001 expressed: "I started practicing and became an athlete in rowing in Vinh Phuc province from August 2016. Over the past 9 years, I have constantly strived, overcome all difficulties and hardships, practiced hard and contributed to Vinh Phuc province's sports to win many noble medals at international and domestic tournaments, bringing glory to the Fatherland of Vietnam as well as Vinh Phuc province. In particular, I was honored to win a ticket to officially participate in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
However, in the past 3 years (from 2022 to 2024), I have not received the medal bonus from domestic competitions and the nutritional support money for 2024. Now that I am old and due to family circumstances, I am writing this application to request a leave of absence from training as an athlete in the rowing sport of Vinh Phuc province. I respectfully request that the Board of Directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc province and the Board of Directors of the Sports Training and Competition Center of Vinh Phuc province create conditions for me to take a leave of absence from January 1, 2025 according to the wishes of my family and myself." Huong is still training in the colors of the Vietnamese rowing team.
Nguyen Thi Huong is the golden girl of the sports world and the first Vietnamese athlete to win an official spot to compete in an Olympic canoeing event. She is also one of the two athletes who won the most gold medals at the 31st SEA Games. 2024 is a historic year when Nguyen Thi Huong won a silver medal at the Asian Championship.
At the VTV Awards - VTV Impression 2024 ceremony held in Hanoi on January 1, 2025. Nguyen Thi Huong was honored in the category of Impressive Young Face in the Sports field. She also won the Young Athlete of the Year award at the Victory Cup 2024.
