Continuing the scientific workshop program "Defining Ninh Binh identity associated with building local brands", Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the roundtable discussion session.
At this discussion session, delegates focused on discussing two main groups of issues. The first was to suggest specific mechanisms and policies to promote local identity values associated with local brand building. The second was to analyze and clarify further solutions to promote local identity values and local development.

In particular, clarifying and locating the development coordinates of Ninh Binh province in local planning with contemporary factors; explaining the need for Ninh Binh to have special and outstanding policies to preserve and promote the unique values and potential of Ninh Binh province; breakthrough solutions for Ninh Binh to promote cultural resources for local sustainable development; further analyzing and clarifying the decentralization between the central government and Ninh Binh in preserving and promoting local values and identities so that the province can be more proactive in economic management and development. Applying science and technology and innovation, digital transformation in preserving and promoting the outstanding values and identities of Ninh Binh, thereby building a smart heritage city; local marketing strategy, communication and some recommendations to improve the investment environment...


Summarizing the discussion contents, Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, highly appreciated the opinions of scientists, scholars, and businesses.
He emphasized: Through the discussion, some very important aspects were clarified. Firstly, Ninh Binh's local development is not a story of the locality alone but a story of the national mission. The Prime Minister has approved the planning of Ninh Binh city to merge Hoa Lu district and Hoa Lu area. Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex will be the core urban area as a heritage urban area. The goal is to build Ninh Binh into a national tourism center of global value. This is a great challenge that requires a very high level of responsibility from the locality.
Second, through the discussion, the outstanding values and characteristics to define the identity of Ninh Binh were clarified. From there, it was possible to build symbols and slogans to contribute to defining and promoting local branding and, more importantly, to turn potential into kinetic energy, making cultural and natural resources into resources and capitalization in the market.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: The opinions of scientists, experts, and businesses are very profound, focusing on analyzing historical, cultural, and natural values. One of the most important values of Ninh Binh is its proximity to major cities, with much room for development, and especially Ninh Binh is the only province in Vietnam that possesses dual heritage, these are important conditions for Ninh Binh to develop tourism.
Ninh Binh has been successful in implementing a tourism management model through the combination of the State, government, businesses, social community and people on the basis of administrative mechanisms, market mechanisms and community mechanisms. This needs to be further studied and promoted to make better use of the resources that Ninh Binh possesses.
The discussions also clarify what a local brand is. Temporarily, a local brand can be understood as a brand that aims at public values but maximizes public values through market tools and principles and at the same time maximizes private values through corporate culture. Combining these two elements will form a local brand.
Local branding is not a simple sum of tangible and intangible cultural values, but requires identification, measurement, assessment and evaluation tools, image building, symbols, slogans, specific products, and institutions that highlight differences from other localities.
