(Dan Tri) - With an excellent combination of roles as a clinician and researcher, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh has made significant advances in the treatment and management of allergic and autoimmune diseases at Vinmec.
Outstanding academic and research journey
Graduating from Hanoi Medical University in 2007, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh quickly asserted his talent as a lecturer in the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology since 2009. Receiving a full scholarship from the Australian Government (AAS), he completed his PhD program at the University of Sydney in 2018, with many groundbreaking studies on drug-induced allergic reactions.
Currently, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh holds many important positions at Vinmec Healthcare System, including: Deputy Director of Vinmec - VinUni Immunology Research Institute, Director of Allergy - Clinical Immunology Center, Head of General Internal Medicine Department, Vinmec Times City International General Hospital.
In addition, he is also a clinical lecturer at VinUni University, adjunct assistant professor at Penn State University (USA), and an active member of many international organizations such as the American Allergy Association, the World Allergy Organization, and the European Allergy Association.
Scientific contributions and groundbreaking research
Belonging to the elite young generation, constantly researching and leading a team of young doctors to find new treatment methods for allergic and immune diseases, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh has dozens of scientific research works highly appreciated by domestic and foreign experts.
To date, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh has published 31 scientific articles in prestigious international journals, which are official journals of professional associations. The research of Associate Professor and his colleagues has been cited more than 700 times. His research focuses on severe allergic reactions caused by drugs related to HLA genes, building allergy prediction models based on genomes and machine learning, and diseases such as urticaria, eczema, and bronchial asthma.
With a team of domestic and foreign colleagues, he has developed a model of the Center of Excellence for the treatment of allergic diseases in Vietnam, applying advanced immunological and biological therapies. Vinmec's Center for Allergy - Clinical Immunology is currently a medical facility that has achieved international certification ADCARE for atopic dermatitis and UCARE for the treatment of angioedema.
With his contributions, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh has received many prestigious international awards such as "The Best Paper Award" for research at the Asia Pacific Allergy Conference in 2013; Chairman Award of Hoc Mai Organization, University of Sydney, Australia in 2016 for contributions in research; The Best Article of The Year Award for the most cited article in 3 years from 2015-2018 in the Asia Pacific Allergy Journal, "Clinical Allergy and Immunology Assembly Award", Asia Pacific Respiratory Conference in 2019.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh is also a member of many international associations such as the American Allergy Association, the World Allergy Organization, the European Allergy Society, the Asia-Pacific Respiratory Society; a member of the WAO Skin Allergy Committee; a member of the council for developing guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of urticaria and angioedema; and one of two official members of Vietnam participating in the drug allergy committee of the Asia-Pacific Allergy and Immunology Association (APAACI).
Dedicated teacher and medical education reformer
Not only is he an excellent researcher, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh has also made many contributions to reforming medical training in Vietnam. He participated in the reform of the training program at Hanoi Medical University and is currently an excellent lecturer at VinUni University.
He completed the medical teaching competency training program at the University of Pennsylvania (USA) in 2023 and was recognized as "Outstanding Lecturer of the Year" by VinUni graduate students.
Constantly dedicated to patients
With over 10 years of clinical experience, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh is constantly searching for advanced treatment methods to improve treatment effectiveness and quality of life for patients. From developing personalized therapies to leading pioneering research, he has contributed to raising the standards of allergy and immunology treatment in Vietnam to international standards.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh is a model of a "clinician scientist" - someone who is not only good at clinical practice but also a pioneer in research, training and medical innovation.
