Celebrating the 63rd Anniversary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry's Traditional Day, up to now, PetroVietnam has fully completed 6/6 financial targets for the whole year 2024 according to the plan assigned by the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and the Board of Directors, reaching the target 3-5 months ahead of schedule; growing from 5-31% compared to 2023.

On November 27, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) held a meeting to celebrate the 63rd Anniversary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry (November 27, 1961 - November 27, 2024).
Attending the meeting were comrade Le Manh Hung - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; comrade Le Ngoc Son - General Director of the Group; comrade Tran Quang Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group; and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors; leaders of specialized departments/Group Office; leaders of member units, project management boards, and branches of the Group.
At the meeting, PetroVietnam General Director Le Ngoc Son informed about the achievements and business results of the Group in the first 11 months of 2024. The basic production targets were completed and exceeded the annual plan, including: Crude oil exploitation is expected to reach 9.77 million tons for the whole year, exceeding the annual plan by 19%; gas exploitation is expected to reach 6.43 billion m³, exceeding the annual plan by 26%; gasoline production (excluding NSRP) is expected to reach over 6.72 million tons for the whole year, exceeding the annual plan by 16%; nitrogen production is expected to reach 1.82 million tons for the whole year, exceeding the annual plan by 4%. With the growth target, the Group always strives for the following year's targets to be higher than the previous year; Up to now, the Group has fully completed 6/6 financial targets for the whole year of 2024 according to the plan assigned by the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and the Board of Directors, reaching the target 3-5 months ahead of schedule; growing from 5-31% compared to 2023.

General Director Le Ngoc Son emphasized that on April 24, 2024, the Central Executive Committee issued Conclusion 76-KL/TW on the implementation of Resolution 41-NQ/TW dated July 23, 2015 of the Politburo on the orientation of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry Development Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2035 and some orientations for the new period; this is an important premise for the Group to organize and implement the development strategy, aiming to become a national Industry - Energy Group .
During the remaining time of 2024, General Director Le Ngoc Son requested the leaders of PetroVietnam's member units to continue to strive and work together to help PetroVietnam successfully implement its development strategy in the next phase, while moving towards the goal of reaching 1 million billion VND in total revenue of the whole Group.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Le Manh Hung reviewed the history of the formation and development of the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry. Exactly 63 years ago, on November 27, 1961, Oil Exploration Group 36 was officially established, marking the birth of the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry. Over the past 6 decades, overcoming countless difficulties and hardships, generations of Oil and Gas workers have always carried within them the aspiration and ambition of "finding oil to enrich the Fatherland". Today, PetroVietnam has become the country's leading economic and technical group.
PetroVietnam has made remarkable and comprehensive progress in both scale and depth. The Group has carried out its mission with the “Five An” words, which are to ensure the country’s energy security; ensure economic security; ensure food security; contribute to protecting national security and sovereignty at sea and implementing social security.
To be able to firmly step into the era of national development , comrade Le Manh Hung emphasized that PetroVietnam must shift its business model to suit market changes, while restructuring its management model, streamlining its apparatus, and optimizing resources to improve productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency to serve the Group's development in the coming period.
Besides, comrade Le Manh Hung also affirmed that one of the tasks that need to be focused on in the coming time is to continue promoting the identity and traditional culture of PetroVietnam.

Over the years, culture has contributed to turning pressure into motivation, serving as the foundation for Petrovietnam to build a management plan that is higher than the previous year, resolutely maintaining the growth target. Therefore, more than 60,000 Petrovietnam employees need to continue to promote the cultural tradition of "Aspiration - Intelligence - Professionalism - Compassion".
PetroVietnam culture must continue to be enhanced, nurtured, and become the glue that binds the Group together, thereby creating motivation for the Group to continue to firmly step on the path of development, increasingly affirming its position, and contributing to the stability and prosperity of the country's economy.
On this occasion, the Group also commended outstanding units in exceeding the management plan on financial targets and outstanding units in implementing corporate culture in the 11 months of 2024.
