Responding to the call of the Party, the State and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with the consent of the Prime Minister, with the tradition of mutual love, oil and gas sentiment and social responsibility, Petrovietnam undertakes to rebuild the entire residential area of Kho Vang village, ensuring a stable, safe and long-term life for the people.

Comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee shared that due to the impact of storm No. 3, Lao Cai is one of the localities that has suffered heavy damage in the past hundreds of years. Up to now, the province has had more than 150 people dead and missing, over 80 people injured due to storms and floods. In the past time, facing the difficulties and losses of the locality, the government and people of Lao Cai province have received timely guidance, support, encouragement and assistance from the leaders of the Party and State, directly from the Prime Minister, leaders of ministries, departments and central branches, valuable support, and noble gestures from organizations and individuals at home and abroad. Up to now, after a short time with high political determination, the province is making efforts to overcome the consequences, gradually restoring infrastructure. Lao Cai provincial leaders introduced to the Group's leaders the planned area for building a new residential area for residents of Kho Vang village.

“On behalf of the provincial leaders and the people of Coc Lau commune and Kho Vang village, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group for its practical, effective and timely support to the people of Kho Vang village. We promise to be determined and coordinate with Petrovietnam to organize the implementation of the construction to ensure completion before December 31, 2024 in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction,” emphasized Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong.

On behalf of Petrovietnam's leadership and nearly 60,000 employees and workers of the Oil and Gas sector, comrade Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Group's Party Committee, sent his condolences and shared the difficulties and losses of the government and people of Lao Cai province in general and Kho Vang village in particular.

Comrade Tran Quang Dung said that Petrovietnam is a pillar group, the locomotive of the country's economy, with more than six decades of tradition and nearly half a century of formation and development. Up to now, the Group has carried out its mission with "Five words of Peace", which are to ensure the country's energy security; ensure economic security; ensure food security; participate in protecting national security and sovereignty at sea and implementing social security. Those Five words of Peace have been continuously strived for by the collective of cadres, party members and workers of the Oil and Gas Group in the past time. Notably, every year, the entire Group's staff and employees have spent from 500 to 700 billion VND on social security work in all regions of the country.

Recently, storm No. 3 has caused extremely serious impacts on the people of the Northern provinces in general, in which Lao Cai is one of the provinces that suffered a lot of damage, pain and loss. In that situation, all employees and workers of the Oil and Gas Group have promptly taken practical actions to donate and assign delegations to visit, encourage and share the difficulties and losses of the people in the localities. Up to now, Oil and Gas workers have donated and transferred to the people and people of the localities more than 50 billion VND and nearly one hundred thousand liters of various types of gasoline to support the functional forces as well as the people in the places that suffered a lot of damage due to storms and floods.

For Lao Cai province alone, Petrovietnam promptly sent a working group to share with the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and sent 2 billion VND to support localities facing many difficulties. Petrovietnam's working group also directly visited and encouraged 31 people and teenagers of Lang Nu village who were being treated at the hospital.

“Today, in a very excited and emotional mood, each member of the delegation always keeps in mind that the collective of Oil and Gas workers, with their efforts and efforts and with the mission of bringing their feelings and hearts to visit, share, and encourage compatriots, leaders and people of localities in general and Kho Vang village in particular, to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.”

Comrade Tran Quang Dung also said that today is Saturday - for many agencies and businesses, it is a day off, but for nearly 60,000 Oil and Gas workers, it is "Volunteer Saturday". All employees in the industry work an extra day to save money to participate in social security activities in general, including the reconstruction of Kho Vang village in particular.

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, with the coordination and consent of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, Bac Ha district, and Coc Lau commune, today representatives of the Oil and Gas workers are here to join the local leaders and people in carrying out a small but meaningful task, which is to rebuild the entire residential area of Kho Vang village; striving and determined to achieve the goal of December 31, 2024, the people of Kho Vang village will return to their new home to prepare for the spring festival, erasing the pain and loss during the recent storm and flood.

“With that sentiment and determination, once again, on behalf of the leaders, officers and employees of Petrovietnam, I would like to send to the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee as well as all compatriots and comrades my warm regards, my strong wishes, and courage to rise up and overcome difficulties. I wish that Kho Vang village will soon become the "gold mine" of Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, and Lao Cai province," said comrade Tran Quang Dung.

The new residential area will fully meet the daily living needs of residents according to new rural standards. In particular, the design and construction of the new residential area will be based on the cultural characteristics, customs and practices of the Tay and Mong ethnic groups - the two main ethnic groups in Kho Vang village. The new location chosen is about 1.5 km from the old residence and has been supported and agreed upon by the people.

The reconstruction of the residential area of Kho Vang village demonstrates the heart, culture of affection and sharing of the people of Dau Khi. Thereby, it also contributes to the implementation of the policy of the Party and Government in caring for and supporting ethnic minorities, especially in situations of overcoming the consequences after natural disasters.

Every year, Petrovietnam has spent 500-700 billion VND on social security activities, building over 2,000 solidarity houses and houses for the poor. In the context of the Northern provinces being heavily affected by storm No. 3 and its aftermath, Petrovietnam was one of the earliest units to call on all officers, employees and workers in the Group to donate, and at the same time, draw from the social security fund to support the people of the Northern provinces. As of September 20, 2024, Petrovietnam has deployed support of 50 billion VND and nearly 100,000 liters of gasoline to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 in 21 damaged provinces/cities.

Particularly for Lao Cai province, Petrovietnam sent a working delegation to urgently donate 2 billion VND and visit and give gifts to 31 victims of Lang Nu village who are being treated at the Provincial General Hospital.
