On September 23 (local time), witnessed by General Secretary and President To Lam, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) and GE Digital International LLC (under GE Group) on promoting digital transformation in operations and developing green, sustainable fuels.
On the occasion of attending the activities of the 79th United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and working in the United States, on the afternoon of September 23 in New York, General Secretary and President To Lam attended a business seminar organized by the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and the Business Council for Common Understanding (BCIU) in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States.
Comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PetroVietnam joined the working delegation and attended the discussion.
At the seminar, in the spirit of promoting and further developing Vietnam - US cooperation, witnessed by General Secretary and President To Lam, PetroVietnam signed and presented Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation with KBR Group and GE Digital International LLC.

Accordingly, Petrovietnam and KBR signed an MOU to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of green technology and sustainable fuel development, especially sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
This is not only a premise to strengthen and deepen the cooperative relationship between PetroVietnam and KBR in promoting research on advanced technical and technological solutions, but also to expand investment opportunities in the production of new energy and sustainable green fuels such as SAF, green hydrogen, green ammonia, etc. in the future.
The signing of the MOU between PetroVietnam and KBR is a strategic step, helping PetroVietnam access advanced technologies and technical solutions for energy transition and carbon emission reduction. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for PetroVietnam to expand investment in new energy and sustainable fuel projects, contributing significantly to the energy transition and carbon emission reduction roadmap, promoting the energy transition process in Vietnam and globally.
Also at the seminar, PetroVietnam and GE Digital International LLC signed an MOU to develop digital transformation solutions for operations in the electricity and oil and gas sectors. This is the result of continuous efforts from both sides, with the desire to create a breakthrough in the application of advanced digital technology solutions in the electricity and oil and gas sectors - two pillars of the national economy.
This signing event is also a testament to the strong and long-term cooperation between PetroVietnam and GE Digital International LLC. The two sides have cooperated in many large projects such as Nhon Trach 1, Nhon Trach 3&4, Song Hau 1, Long Phu 1, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plants, etc., bringing important achievements in ensuring stable energy supply for the economy.
GE Digital International LLC, a member of GE Vernova, a member of GE Group of the United States, with a wide customer network in 75 countries and more than 21,000 businesses using their solutions, is committed to bringing PetroVietnam the most practical experiences and advanced technologies. With this new cooperation memorandum, PetroVietnam and GE Vernova continue to affirm their shared commitment to developing sustainable and advanced solutions for the power and oil and gas industries. Through this, PetroVietnam will seize new opportunities in the context of globalization and energy transformation, while affirming the Group's position in the race for digital technology and sustainable energy.

Also at the seminar, Vietnam Oil and Gas Services Corporation (PTSC), a member unit of PetroVietnam, and Excelerate Energy Company signed a cooperation agreement in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
KBR, headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, is one of the world's leading energy companies and a provider of specialized technology and engineering services. With a workforce of 34,000 and 2023 revenue of $7 billion, KBR operates in more than 80 countries worldwide. The company is known for its innovative technologies in areas such as oil refining, petrochemicals, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), new energy (green hydrogen, green ammonia), and plastics recycling.
In the past two years, KBR has undertaken several major projects related to green energy and sustainable fuels, including assessing a national roadmap for hydrogen production deployment for Singapore and producing green ammonia using renewable energy in many countries around the world.
