Pep Guardiola apologizes to his players.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that he has been unfair in limiting Jeremy Doku's playing time in recent matches.

"I was very unfair to Doku," Guardiola shared. "I remember the away games against Tottenham and Brighton. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to win."

Guardiola also explained why Doku wasn't playing regularly: "We no longer attack by using wingers. Currently, Man City prioritizes using full-backs and players who play in central midfield more."

Doku has only started one game since the beginning of this month. He joined Man City from Rennes for a fee of €60 million, on a contract that runs until 2028. To date, Doku has made 36 appearances for Man City, scoring 6 goals and providing 7 assists.

Guardiola added about Doku's form: "In the final meters on the pitch, he is unstoppable. I am very pleased with his excellent performance in the 2-0 win against Everton. Doku moved, stretched the defense and got the ball into the penalty area. His impact in that game was much better than at Old Trafford, where he was not in good form."

The Spanish coach hopes that with Doku's return, Man City will improve their attacking strength during the crucial stage of the season.
