Thai Nguyen PC applies many solutions to improve power supply reliability

Accordingly, recently, PC Thai Nguyen has equipped and upgraded the system for the operation rooms, including deploying the automation system and connecting the SCADA system to the remote control center, ensuring the operation monitoring and remote troubleshooting in a synchronous and highly effective manner.

The company also invests in and installs protection and switching devices on the line such as line circuit breakers (Reclosers), load switches (LBS) connected to the data collection, monitoring and control system SCADA/DMS located at the Remote Control Center.

Recloser and LBS circuit breakers are installed at segment and branch locations to promote the function of automatic switching devices to segment when an incident occurs on the grid; phase-synchronizing the 22, 35kV medium voltage loop; and connecting the medium voltage lines.

At the same time, the company applies repair and construction technology using the 22kV grid hotline method without power cut, and cleaning the insulator with high pressure water.

At the same time, PC Thai Nguyen also builds a set of professional criteria in the field of automation for the team of engineers, dispatchers, and operators; organizes annual training and assessment programs; builds a team of engineers and technical staff with sufficient qualifications and capacity, and masters new technologies; ensures that in the development and application of science and technology, the company and its affiliated units have enough high-quality, professional human resources in the field of automation.

Up to now, Thai Nguyen PC has connected SCADA signals to serve remote control of 100% of 110kV substations; Reclose and LBS circuit breakers have also been optimized in controlling equipment on SP5 at the Center, helping to reduce incident segmentation time, the basic medium voltage grid has been synchronized and closed-loop, reducing power outage time for loads.

In the coming time, PC Thai Nguyen plans to deploy hotline repair using the insulating platform method to be able to perform many Hotline jobs at locations that the bucket truck cannot reach and repair hotline electricity on the 35kV grid; continue to reduce power outage time for customers, contributing to improving the quality of electricity supply, serving customers better and better.
