April 4 was arguably the worst day for the US stock market since June 2020, after President Trump announced strict tariffs on most of America's trading partners around the world.

The US stock market was in the red. The Dow Jones index fell more than 3,000 points, equivalent to 7.9%. On April 4 alone, the Dow Jones index fell more than 2,200 points after China announced retaliatory tariffs against the US.

In addition, JPMorgan Chase Bank also announced a reduction in its 2025 US economic growth forecast from 1.3% to -0.3%, due to the impact of Mr. Trump's tariff policy.

However, in a new post on the social network Truth Social on the evening of April 4 (local time), President Donald Trump continued to reject arguments about the declining future of the US economy, while painting a bright picture of the tax plan he announced.

“Big business won’t worry about tariffs because they know they’re here to stay, they just need to focus on the BIG and GREAT DEALS that will STRENGTHEN our ECONOMY,” Trump shared.

"ONLY THE WEAK FAIL!" - the 47th president continued to emphasize the message in capital letters.

President Trump remains upbeat, currently not attending any public events and spending most of his time playing golf at Trump International Golf Club. Mr. Trump arrived at the golf club at 9:45 a.m. and left the club around 3:30 p.m. on April 4, according to ABC News.

While the stock market saw record drops due to President Trump's tariff policies, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller dismissed concerns of an economic recession and pledged that "the situation will be completely opposite."
