"I will not invite former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the administration, which is in the process of being formed," Mr. Trump announced on the Truth Social network.
"I have enjoyed and appreciated working with them in the past, and want to thank them for their service to our country. Make America Great Again," he added.
Since his landslide victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump and his team have been working behind closed doors at Mar-a-Lago to build the 47th president’s administration, with a focus on loyalty.
According to sources, Mr. Trump is meeting with potential candidates to serve in his administration before his presidential inauguration on January 20, 2025.
Multiple sources also said that President-elect Trump has questioned Pompeo's loyalty and whether he can be trusted to carry out his agenda.
Ms Haley, who was a fierce critic of Mr Trump when they were both running for the Republican nomination, later endorsed Mr Trump's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Meanwhile, Mr Pompeo has drawn criticism for not supporting Mr Trump strongly enough.
Previously, Mr. Pompeo, who was also the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during Mr. Trump's first presidential term, was mentioned by some media as a potential defense secretary.
