(Dan Tri) - The 8th Central Conference elected Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, to the 13th Secretariat. With this decision, the 13th Secretariat now has 12 members.
On the morning of October 6, at the 8th Central Conference, the Party Central Committee elected Mr. Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, to hold the position of member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat for the 13th tenure.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung was born in 1961, from Thua Thien Hue, is a Doctor of Law, Master of International Law and Diplomacy.
Mr. Trung is a member of the Party Central Committee, 12th and 13th terms; Head of the Central External Relations Commission; and a delegate to the 15th National Assembly.

In the field of foreign affairs, Mr. Le Hoai Trung is known as a professional diplomat with extensive experience in various fields of bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs.
Starting from a position as a specialist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Trung gradually made many strides in his career, taking on many different positions. He was Third Secretary; Minister Counselor, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations.
Since late 2010, Mr. Trung was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and was reappointed in October 2014, after completing his term as Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, New York, USA (2011-2014).
Mr. Trung is a member of the Party Central Committee, holding the position of Deputy Minister and Chairman of the National Border Committee since May 2016. In March 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission.
The Secretariat is an agency established by the Central Executive Committee of the Party to supervise the implementation of Party policies and decide on a number of issues as assigned by the Central Executive Committee.
The Secretariat is elected by the Central Executive Committee. The Secretariat consists of the General Secretary, a number of Secretaries elected by the Central Executive Committee from among the members of the Central Executive Committee, and a number of Politburo members (assigned by the Politburo).
With the election of an additional member of the Secretariat, the 13th Secretariat now has 12 members, including:
