An old man who was raising his wife with a stroke was hit and killed by a car while using crutches to cross the highway to sell lottery tickets.

At around 6:00 a.m. on April 14, Mr. TTH (born in 1953, from Tien Giang) used crutches to cross Hanoi Highway (near the National University Station, Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line, Linh Trung ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city).

At the same time, a 16-seat car with license plate 60LD-000.22 traveling from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City hit Mr. H., causing him to be thrown to the side of the road and critically injured. Local residents called the police and medical staff to come to the scene. The medical team went to the scene to provide first aid to the victim, but Mr. H. did not survive.

The location where Mr. H. crossed the street had no pedestrian crossing.

Thu Duc City Area Team, Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police extracted camera footage to determine the cause of the accident. It is known that Mr. H. has a leg disability, moves with crutches, and works as a lottery ticket seller to support his wife who suffered a stroke. At the time of the accident, Mr. H. left his rented room and crossed the street to make a living.
